Last night I had this weird dream that Miss Ellie shot Number Nine, so I shot Miss Ellie with a speargun. I know what it means. It has to do with the way Ellie has been going after Number Nine so much lately. But when I went downstairs this morning, I saw Ellie lying in the corner (usually she runs over to see me when I come down) looking really sad, and almost kinda scared. I went over to pet her and she flinched when I touched her in the spot where I had shot her in my dream. I know dogs dream, but...do you think they dream the same way people do? I'm pretty sure they don't Think the way we do, but dreams are a different kind of "thought" than what we're used to when we're awake. They're disorganized and convoluted and just freaky ways for our minds to get a little stress out. Do you think dogs dream about falling? Or showing up at obedience school without their coller? Would a horrible nightmare for a dog involve being beaten by their owner? I've seen my dogs flinch and whine while dreaming, so I just wonder... |
