and i felt kind of weird about that. i would have liked to have met Mark. having come here over and over etc and enjoying the wonderful things available. and always enjoying the essays on display. i was jealous. i have seen the picture of him on here and i think he looks interesting enough. then i remembered i was just in new york! but would i have been able to meet Mark Thomas? would i have been given the priviledge to see mistaswine? (which i think he looks like a more american Seal.) would i be supporting a hangover the next day? how could i have been preoccupied with trying to live in that city? why wasn't i trying to accomplish something?! from the first days that i came here and when i showed it to my good friend Renae, i know she would be interested if not jealous to know that i met the infamous. she was already excited that i had met Momus. who will be in New York in March @ the knitting factory. i think people should check him out, he is witty, and scottish. as we all know, i love that! "no more mister nice guy, i love the dead." |

he is a very hairy scotsman tho. but he is disarmingly nice. i was exspecting him to be a snobby brit of some sort. and he was really nice to me. i met him at an instoreand he signed a c.d. for me and i was so nervous i was shaking and he just talked to me like i was an old friend. and later at the show he even remembered my name. and his shows are amazing. the man gets into it in a way i have never really seen the likes of. he is wonderful. and he makes it all look so easy. and he dances and everything. he is very good with the crowd. and if you get a chance to see Gilles (aka Toog) he is also very good. but then again the ladies always swoon for the frenchman. if you have ever heard ping pong the album. on there he talks about what the term is for not liking babies. that is about how he talks before each song. after his show i went over to talk to him, and he asked me about playing the cello and if it was as erotic as it looked (that was the first preverted thing i think i remember) i told him it can be. and i thanked him for a great show. check out his site http://www.demon.co.uk/momus and there should be the vaudville tour photos and whatnot on there. i came to find out that the show i was at was what he considered his worst show of the tour. (say it ain't so Nicky!) it was Austin. the club he played at tho was indeed wretched. |
