By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 02:58 pm:

    i just remembered........

I had a dream I kissed a sorabjite last night.

a real kiss. a good kiss.

By Spider on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:21 pm:

Dave, somebody has a crush on you!

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:27 pm:

i wont reveal who it was because it would probably embarrass the poop out of them and me.

but it wasnt dave, muchless a male sorabjite

By Christopher on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:37 pm:

    fuck

By droopy on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:39 pm:

he's lying. wasn't patrick the one who had a dream he was holding semillama's hand a while back?

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:41 pm:

    HA!

    that wasnt me.

By droopy on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 03:54 pm:

    yes it was.

we're just going to keep hounding you until you fess up. i don't have anything better to do.

By Spider on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:29 pm:

    Patrick, you tease.

By agatha on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:36 pm:

    let's place bets.

    in order of likelihood:
    1. heather
    2. sarah
    3. pez

By sarah on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:37 pm:

    4. Cat
    5. Gee

By agatha on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:44 pm:

actually, i just decided to bump sarah and heather down in place of rhiannon. no offense, girls.

    1. rhiannon
    2. heather
    3. sarah
    4. pez

i am basing these guesses on empirical data i have collected on patrick over the years. in terms of sheer hotness, it could be any number of girls on this skank-ass-ho website.

By agatha on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:44 pm:

    oh, i forgot:

    5. dave

By sarah on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:51 pm:

    6. agatha

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:52 pm:

wow i forgot all about that dream droop. you got me there.

ok....i'll attempt to play along for the fun of it.

this sorabjite is female and as far as i know she doesnt have a boyfriend. this girl is allowed to drink legally.

it was absolutely without a doubt the sweetest, most endearing kiss i think ive ever dreamed about. really. the more i think of it, the more im charmed.

it was all about the kiss. i cant say what prompted this dream but then again, i was dreaming about patty hearst recently so go fuckin figure.

By dave. on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 04:58 pm:

    *blush*

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 05:04 pm:

    *pout*

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 05:54 pm:

    I think it is moonlit!

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 05:58 pm:

no. though im sure she's a dandy kisser.

    its "moonit" not "moonlit"

derived from her full handle years ago "moon unit"

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 06:15 pm:

allright, so I spelled it wrong. Sorry moonit

By Dougie on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 06:26 pm:

I'll betcha it was Dani, the way you two kids have been carrying on as of late. Somebody even mentioned you guys should get a room.

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 06:50 pm:

nope (dani would be so lucky)

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:00 pm:

I think it was Dani that was joking about getting a room.

He said that she was of legal drinking age, and didn't have a boyfirend.......hmmmmmmm

    the possibilities.

Czarina? Who else? I notice he didn't say anything about rhiannon, heather, or sarah (pez hasn't reached legal drinking age yet).

This is turning into a game of clue. How fun!

By Dani on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:14 pm:

Holy shit...I soooooooooooo knew that Dougie was gonna suggest it was me. I can assure you that it is certainly not me. We cant stand one another.
Getting a room was dear ole Antigones idea. I suggested providing boxing gloves in the room.
Patty couldnt get lucky enough to ever kiss me.
And besides, he said it was someone single. Now, we all know I'm far from single. Legally anyway.
So, I have no idea who it could be.
    Bite your tongue, Dougie.

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:21 pm:

"I can assure you that it is certainly not me"

no you can't. but im telling you it wasnt you.

me not standing you really has not bearing on what my mind conjures up in my sleep.

but again, lets not get sidetracked here.

it was a really really really moving dream...the kiss was slow in its approach and duration. it was calculated and timid but mutually desired.

By Dani on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:37 pm:

Um, I'm having a hard time with the mutually desired part...but whatever.
Notice that I said it was NOT me. I knew that. Just for the record.

So, Patty, why dont you just step up and say who it is. You wouldnt have brought it up if you didnt want anyone to know.
I'm sure your not the only one that has had some kind of dream...or thought..of someone here.
I've had nasty little kinky thoughts about someone here. Perfectly normal.
    Fess up Patty.

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:47 pm:

"Um, I'm having a hard time with the mutually desired part"

thats because you're a retard and can't comprehend the fact that I..again...am not talking about you.

in MY dream...the KISS was mutually desired, anticipated, drawn out like a hot southern evening.

    get it?

i think the suspense is a little more fun than coming out and saying it.

    oh and also...
jumping the bandwagon and repeatedly calling me "patty" is getting old dani.

    really.

i expect it from nate, with you its just annoying.

    grow up already.

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:49 pm:

The "not having a boyfriend" rules out most except Sarah and Rhi and Platypus. (Moonit is already crossed off the list.)

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:51 pm:

    Gee!

That's a strong possibility, even though I think in reality she'd only condescend to bite him.

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:52 pm:

    hmmm...southern.

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:53 pm:

Of course, he said "not having a boyfriend" but he didn't say anything about not having a husband. Doesn't that just open up a new can of worms?

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:54 pm:

    no eri.

im pretty sure the person knows who they are at this point.

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:55 pm:

    "southern"

wrong track cat. i really used that only for effect. there was no clue hidden in that.

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:58 pm:

Tell us then. I give up.

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:00 pm:

"By Dani on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 03:33 pm:
For fuks sake, I'm still wonderin' about Dougie's paddlin' stick. Bet it rocks.
    Yeah. No doubt.

Patty has potential but he's to fuckin' stuck on himself. Loosen up. develop a cool attitude.

God I really cant stand you.

    Wanna get a room?!?!?!?!!? "

See, I said it was you Dani :p

Look everybody, for once I actually knew what I was talking about!!!!!!

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:02 pm:

I am dying of curiosity at this point. SOMEONE TELL ME!!!!

By patrick on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:04 pm:

what does your gut tell you?

who ever guesses correctly (and you get ONE guess) from this post forward, will get a free pair of mille nico panties.

(dave i know you're about to cream your pants with that offer)

By Cat on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:05 pm:

    Sarah

By Platypus on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:07 pm:

    Dave.

By Platypus on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:08 pm:

and, for the record, I do have a boy-person.

By semillama on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:11 pm:

    It's spider.

I only want panties that wer worn by your
    models ; )

By semillama on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:13 pm:

    Oh shit, maybe not!

It could be Kalli!, In fact, I change my choice to
Kalli, since I know you've met her!

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:44 pm:

O.K. I'll bite. Who is Kalli?

I am going to vote for Rhiannon cuz I think her name is cool and I have already met two people with that name here in Tex-ass :p

By Bubbles on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:47 pm:

    It's MEEEEEE!!!!!

By Dani on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 09:15 pm:

Yup, I agree. It's bubbles for sure.

I totally fuckin' know it aint me PATTY. I comprehend that it wasnt me. For you to say that I dont comprehend that makes me a bit...sick.
    Ewwww. That about covers that.

On now to the get a room...yes Eri, that was my post alright. But, a few days before I posted that, Antigone told me and PATTY to get a room. I just didnt feel like going and digging it up and re-posting it. I would never...ever...ever...suggest PATTY and I getting a room. Just the thought of it...repulses me.

And now on to the retard comment....takes one to know one PATTY.
Your a pathetic loser who thinks he knows everything but in reality, your just a plain stupid asshole.
Any other names you would like to call me please feel free to bring them on.

Oh yeah, about the PATTY thing...I dont care what Nate or anyone else calls you. I WILL call you PATTY for the rest of your miserable Sorabji life. So get the fuck used to it. Do I demand that you start my name with a capital D? Noooo, I dont. I will call you whatever the fuck I feel like calling you. And that would be PATTY.
PATTY PATTY PATTY PATTY PATTY forever. Rock on pussylip.

By Dani on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 09:20 pm:

By semillama on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 - 04:20 pm:
    Get a room, you two.

There. I thought it was Antigone ( sorry) but it was Sem. Still, I am not the one that suggested it.
I know you wanted to be right Eri but thats really how it started!!!

By Fetidbeaver on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 10:54 pm:

my asshole!!! you dreamed of slowly kissing my asshole...

By eri on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 11:25 pm:

is your asshole an unattached girl?

By Bubbles on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 11:27 pm:

I'm telling you, it was me!!!!!

By moonit on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 01:34 am:

    Its Sarah.

And thankyou I am a damn fine kisser.

By agatha on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 02:50 am:

it's totally obviously rhiannon. come on, people, pay attention.

By Cat on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 03:16 am:

Yeah I'm going with Rhi now.

By Spider on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 08:44 am:

It couldn't be me...Patrick's never met me or seen what I look like.

    I'm guessing Kalli.

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 08:54 am:

    I think it's Heather.

By Dougie on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 10:31 am:

    Or Lucy.

By sarah on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 10:36 am:

it's satan's severed head, you retards.

By patrick on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:22 am:

By semillama on Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 08:11 pm:

agatha and cat email me your mailing addresses as well. (agatha im sure i have yours somewhere but hunor me)

Spider never seeing you really has nothing to do with it.

By patrick on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:22 am:

oh and Dani....your post, proves yet again, what a classy, upstanding, mature woman you are. keep it up.

By Spider on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:29 am:

    Me? Wow, that's complimentary.

Why were you afraid that would scare me?

You have to tell me more now -- where were we? What was the context? What did I look like to you?

By patrick on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:43 am:

cause you can be skittish and modest about these kinds of things. or at least it seems that way.

I don't know where we were, nor do i know what we were doing, how we got there or why.

All i can recall is we were having a dialog...unknown to me....there was this tension mounting....you had dark, long wavy hair, deep brown eyes and full lips. we were in a reclined position on some unknown surface.

the anticipation was driving and i was reeling in my "dream state mind" easy does it boy, easy does it boy, steady steady like i was approaching a wild rabbit.

when we locked lips, a charge raced through my body, and i was positive one raced through yours.

i felt your repressed sexuality (i realize this may or may not be based on reality, it WAS a dream) begin to unlock. your lips were terribly soft, it was a delicate kiss and went on for quite some time. it was a slow kiss. again, stroking the fur ever so softly of a wild rabbit i have managed to capture in my hands.

    *shit now im blushing*

anyway...as the kiss proceeded, i believe, like our lips slowly aproached each other, our bodies, feeling charged, started to approach each other. its like brain, lips and body will follow. i don't think our bodies actually made contact but may day dreams seem to want to extend that aspect.

then it pretty much came to an end. we stopped, somewhat bashfully and thats where it gets cloudy.

i think what was most titillating in it was this perceived notion that you're repressed and i was fortunate enough to see and feel inside, even for a moment.

    ok, im going to hide.

By agatha on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:43 am:

i think i won, because i was the first one who stated it with certainty.

that's my story, and i'm stickin to it.

By Spider on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:54 am:

    WHoa.

That put a smile on my face that will probably last all day. What a sweet, lovely dream.

By Antigone on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 02:12 pm:

    Aw, get a room!!!

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 02:47 pm:

classy, upstanding, mature woman....hmmm..yup, thats me alright. Thanks for the compliment PATTY.
I will continue to keep up the good work.

By Spider on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 02:48 pm:

Why don't you take a nap and have a nice dream of your own?

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 02:53 pm:

I dont have nice dreams. Just scary ones.
    But thanks for the suggestion.

By Antigone on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 03:19 pm:

Try vitamin B12 and zinc, about an hour before
    bedtime

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 03:24 pm:

    What will that do?

By Antigone on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 03:43 pm:

Try it and find out! :)

It makes your dreams more vivid and familiar feeling, at least for me.

By Spider on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 04:16 pm:

Dang, I had been responding to Antigone.

Does it matter if the B12 and Zinc are part of a multi-vitamin? I can't imagine my dreams being more vivid than they already are.

By Antigone on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 04:36 pm:

Why, Rhi, are you suggesting that I have a dream about you? :P

And, multivitamins usually don't have enough B12 and zinc to make a difference, though I generally have more intense dreams after taking a multi before bed. Try a B12 with at least 1000mcg and zinc with at least 50mg.

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 04:56 pm:

I thought it would help me have nice dreams instead of scary ones. I dont wanna remember the scary dreams more than I already do.

By Dougie on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 06:14 pm:

I rarely, if ever, remember my dreams, just the mood they conveyed. I haven't been sleeping well lately, and I don't think I've dreamed much. Just a lot of tossing and turning and waking up way too damn early.

By Daniel ssss on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 06:33 pm:

hmmm. Try a balanced B complex, 1000 mg ought to do it, or a turkey sandwich, no onions. And I'd like to know what Patrick was smoking to get Spider in a dream.

By patrick on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 07:27 pm:

i havent smoked pot all week.

i've had a playground crush on spider forever....she knows that.

By moonit on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 09:53 pm:

I think everyone has a crush on the spidergirl. ;)

By Cat on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 10:38 pm:

    I know I do.

By Dani on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 11:12 pm:

My dreams, actually nightmares, are usually always the same.
I wake up to a knock on the front door. When I go to the door, there stands my Father.
He tells me how sorry he is that he left me and my Sister.
When I was 7 years old and my Sister was 6, we came home from school on the bus as usual. When we approached the driveway, there were police officers and firemen there. They didnt notice that we were getting off the bus so we just continued to walk to the front door.
Next thing we know we see chunks of red stuff all over and my Dad was lying there with half of his head gone. He just had a little hair and a lump on his head but his body was normal.
Needless to say my Dad blew his brains out in the front yard right before my Sister and I came home from school. He was my life. My everything.
Ever since then I dont sleep much. When I do fall asleep, I awaken to the horrible nightmare of him knocking at my door. With a huge hole in his head. Begging me for forgiveness.
He left a note. My Mom refuses to tell anyone what the note said.
I'm always afraid to go to sleep. So I basically just stay awake most of the time.
Come to find out, suicide is heriditary in my family. They all kill them selves at the age of 39.
My Mom always worries about me because I take after my Dad's side of the family. I'm now 32 and I cant even imagine taking my own life and having my friends and family suffer because of my cowardly act.
I would love to just sleep one night without waking up to a horrible dream.

But, it's not meant to be.
So life goes on and another day passes.
I stay in my own little world and make myself the best Mother I can be. I will never hurt my child in any way, shape, or form.
I dont ever feel sorry for myself or my family. What happened is done and I cant change it.
The whole episode made me stronger. More determined to be an awesome parent. And I am, without a doubt, my daughters best friend.
I wont ever leave her...or hurt her. I love her more than words can say.
Yup, I've made some mistakes in my life. I'm sure I'll make many more.
    Thats life.
    Live and learn.

By J on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 09:44 am:

Mothers always love their kids, stay strong Dani:)

By Czarina on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 08:59 pm:

    I love you,Dani.

By Dani on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 10:17 pm:

    I love you two girls!

I used to have this friend a couple years back and she had a little girl. She hated her. The little girl was the sweetest, cutest, quietest, well behaved kid there could be. And her Mother hated her. She always said that she never wanted to have a girl and that the kid was always ruining her plans. Which consisted of sitting in the bars all day. Then I was at the bar one day and she brought her kid in the bar. I told her that kids dont belong in bars and she took the kid home and I aint heard a thing from her since. Which was about 2 years ago now.
She would tell her kid that she hated her and call her horrible names. I couldnt be her friend any more.
She was a terrible person. And from what I hear around town she still is.

By eri on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 11:04 pm:

My mom had a friend like that when I was in high school. I became friends with her daughter. Eventually the womans drugs and whoring around on her husband got in the way of their friendship. During this time the daughter got involved in a very serious relationship (and was only 15) with the boyfriend living in the home. When the daughter said she couldn't handle the relationship and she was too young she was told she was being stupid and selfish and he was staying. Eventually she fell in her mothers footsteps, with the hard drugs and the whoring around. Apparently daughter had a baby with some one night stand musician flying through town and that was the end of the relationship. She and I drifted apart long before that. I got tired of her stealing my money. The last we saw or heard from her was watching CNN during the fire storm in the Cali desert in 98 (i think but could be wrong on the year). They were evacuating all of the houses in the area because of the fire and she was sitting on the roof of her house saying that the fire could take her too, but she wasn't going to leave her house. It was a trip. Almost as freaky as seeing Charity on Elimi-Date.

Dani, being a good parent isn't by any means easy, it is hard work. Not many parents make their children the proper priorities in their lives. Most parents are two self centered in this day and age. Their careers are more important than their children, or their nights out bar hopping, or whatever. It is really nice to see other parents who appreciate how important their children are.

By semillama on Sunday, March 24, 2002 - 07:59 pm:

I may have gueesed first, but I did change my
    choice, so I disqualify myself.

Although, patrick's conception of what Spider
looks like by his description isn't too far off...

By Spider on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 09:36 am:

But my hair isn't long or wavy, and my mouth is small.

By the way, Antigone -- I tried your B12/Zinc cocktail on Saturday night. Nothing! I had dreams, but they were fuzzy and non-descript. So much for that.

Is it okay to take 2000 mg B12 every day, or will that hurt me?

By patrick on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 11:34 am:

it just seems like it would hurt you. multi vitamins daily just seem like too much.

i can hope for another dream in which i get the mouth structure correct.

By Spider on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 12:57 pm:

OK, enough about me and my mouth.

I like dogs. I think they're nice. How about you?

By semillama on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 01:16 pm:

They are ok, but I can't really see myself
owning one. I can't really get over dog smell.

By Spider on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 01:22 pm:

There are some breeds of dogs that don't smell.

I think the Basenji is one of them. Basenjis also don't bark -- they sing.

It's true. I worked as a vet assistant in high school, and I met a few Basenjis. They make a little yodelling sound. So cute.

By patrick on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 01:46 pm:

because they are african prairie dogs and use the lack of barking to better hunt.

By Antigone on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 03:01 pm:

2000mcg daily seems like a bit much, but B12 is water soluable, so you'll just piss it away. It won't hurt you.

If you want to take them for maximum absorption use a timed released B complex and a timed released C. (Vitamin C aids in absorption of B vitamins.)

Also, the dream thing might not have worked if the B12 you were taking was timed release. For your dreaming you want it all in your system at once...

By semillama on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 03:21 pm:

I dreamed recently that I had the magic power
to remove the plowed soil zone from a field by
    making an upturned, raising/rolling motion
with my hands. I saw this at the site we are
working on and the dark soil just rolled back
off the subsoil like a rug on hardwood, with
little clumps of dirt hovering in the air.

time for a nice vacation, don't ya think?

By Spider on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 03:37 pm:

Hmmm...I'll have to check on the timed-release thing.

The only thing I remember about the vitamin dreams was a song I made up in one of them that had a line that went "If all we had was weakness..." It was a peaceful song, like a hymn, and I sang it at twilight in a neighborhood with strange looking buildings.

i've had nightmares lately that i can never remember but can't sleep and so am constantly tired.

except last night, i read teenage wicca fiction and slept the whole night soundly. coincidence?

Speaking of dogs we have a bitch in my house, that knows I don't want her here, her name is Becky and I'm seriously thinking of having an order of protection against her.

By TBone on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 12:51 pm:

I just got back from San Francisco. I went there for spring break and had a rocking time. Except I did get bit by a dog.

We were staying with the adopted uncle of my roommate who has two old dogs. One of them is insane. Hagis is very friendly when Uncle Russel is around, but if he leaves, you will become the Evil Intruder once you've left the dog's sight. I went out to the car to get something, and when I came back in, it was all barking and growling.

Then I did the stupid thing and tried to calm him down. I felt so retarded that I didn't tell Russel. The dog was generally more friendly to me after tasting my blood.

I had weird dreams about earnest conversations with beautiful people.

there are some serious bicyclist biters in the laurelhurst area (a park that's on mlk and fremont) that will randomly bite people on bikes like one of my housemates and a friend of a housemate when their owners are around and the owners don't do anything at all.

that souns seriously garbled. i apologise, i've only been awake for around 15 minutes.

By Spider on Sunday, December 17, 2006 - 03:00 pm:

So, this morning I had a dream. 90% of the dream involved walking around Boston in the fall, looking for the right train that would take me home, having to walk through graveyards in the woods to get to the train station, getting lost, etc.

In the end of my dream, I was Mike Patton, or my consciousness was in Mike Patton's body. Then I, Spider, was another character in the dream, only not controlled by my consciousness. I, as Mike Patton, was kissing "me" and cupping "my" ass in my hands, delighted that I finally was able to get this far with "me." (Apparently, I-as-Mike-Patton had been after "me" for months.)

And the funny part was that it was a lucid dream, so I could feel "my" ass in the dream, and it was pretty dang nice. Smaller than in real life, but still soft. I remember thinking in awe, as Mike Patton, "Damn!"

Does this strike anyone else as hilarious? What on earth could it mean, to dream about making out with yourself?

By wisper on Sunday, December 17, 2006 - 05:38 pm:

    delightful and hilarious
    :) awww

By Nate on Sunday, December 17, 2006 - 11:59 pm:

    sorry, jack.

i was kind of freaked out, having had a dream the same night that i was spider, and i started making out with mike patton.

i woke up with an incredible clitoral erection.

By Spider on Monday, December 18, 2006 - 01:17 am:

So it was good for you, too? Awesome.

By Czarina on Monday, December 18, 2006 - 06:53 am:

I think it means lucky for you to be in Vegas! Cause what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Therefore, you/Mike Patton can have at it any time or place and not have to think twice about it!

By Nate on Monday, December 18, 2006 - 02:40 pm:

i'm listening to mr bungle in celebration of the memory.

By Spider on Monday, December 18, 2006 - 04:42 pm:

Have you heard his stuff with Lovage and Peeping Tom? It's kind of hot. He's hot. Even in a hairnet.

By Nate on Monday, December 18, 2006 - 07:36 pm:

i was listing to peeping tom this morning as well.

By Spider on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - 12:21 am:

A couple of months ago I went on a Mike Patton downloading spree and got, gosh, dozens of his songs from his various projects. Sadly, not all of the files were labelled well, so now I don't know what's what. There's one track in particular I've been listening to on repeat -- it's instrumental and there are drum breaks that...gosh, I don't know how to describe them except to say that in those moments the drumming sits behind the beat and gives the song a fantastic sluggish-but-mighty sound, a là John Bonham's drumming on "When the Levee Breaks." I love that.

    "Sucker" is good.

By V on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - 10:52 pm:

Can you download tracks to Sorabji?

By Dougie on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - 10:55 pm:

    Yes.

By V on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - 11:06 pm:

...That would involve a web site.

By Spider on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 - 02:15 am:

That Peeping Tom song I mentioned above, the one with the drum breaks, is called "Giving All My Love Away" and is on their (Mike Patton and Dan the Automator's) demo album.

Just in case you wanted to know.

By Nate on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 - 04:30 am:

    i wish i had that.

i need to dork out and figure out where to steal music.

or, get agent to run again and start ripping through the newgroups once more.

By Spider on Thursday, January 4, 2007 - 04:25 am:

Mike Patton also shows up on a Team Sleep (the side project of Chito Moreno from the Deftones) song called "Kool-Aid Party."

I think the title is a reference to the Jonestown massacre, but the lyrics don't really sync up with that theme (though something ominous is going on).

By Spider on Thursday, January 4, 2007 - 04:31 am:

Also, IIRC, "Kool-Aid Party" is not on the Team Sleep album but is an unreleased track. You'll have to get Soulseek or something to steal it.

It's worth the effort, though. It's very drowsy and sluggish, and there are ambient sounds of waves crashing in the background and a repeated wail of a guitar that sounds like a crying seagull, and Mike Patton's voice is all low and rough, and....yeah. It's good.

By dr. oopy on Thursday, January 4, 2007 - 01:59 pm:

i don't know who mike patton is, but the dream: thumbs up.

last night i dreamt that i was being felt up by shane macgowan.

By Spider on Saturday, November 3, 2012 - 11:02 am:

I had another one of *those* dreams last night, again featuring Mike Patton. At least this time my consciousness stayed in my own body.

I really don't get it. Why him? I don't listen to his music, I don't find him particularly attractive, I had not thought of him or his music in months if not years, I hardly ever have dreams of that nature featuring real people, so why of all the people in the world does my brain have to pick him?

By droopy on Saturday, November 3, 2012 - 02:48 pm:

sometimes the brain makes strange associations.

once i had a dream i was making out with john
linnell of they might be giants. it's not as if i
was ever a great fan, but i have listened to their
music. the more i thought about it, i made the
connection: they might be giants - the movie
starring george c. scott. i remember being stirred
in unaccountable ways the first time i saw him as
buck turgidson in dr. strangelove. perhaps i had
heard a tmbg song that day and my brain, still
tentative, made john linnell a gentler subsitute
for the more virile george c. scott.

    just a theory

By platypus on Saturday, November 3, 2012 - 05:11 pm:

Weird, I had a makeout dream last night too,
featuring Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars. It was
very odd (though somewhat explainable given that
I've been marathoning Veronica Mars again lately).
