I've made it a personal goal to have a one-man show of my work in the New York City area in the Spring. Can anyone suggest a place, or help? I don't care if it's in someone's apartment, or the back room of a tattoo parlor, or your Uncle Bob's basement, or a condemned laundromat in the Bronx. Call it a gallery, hang my art there for a couple weeks, and I'll be happy. Seriously.

I will greatly reward anyone who might be willing be devote a little of their time and space to this idiotic proposition...

Yes,I also need room for my art work, its a bit like H.R.Giger,and fills half a room.

By droopy on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 11:54 am:

i can get you a show in fort worth, texas. assuming you show up here in march or september and you don't expect me to do much more than hang it on the wall and serve drinks.

By Antigone on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 12:11 pm:

Shit, I'll show up for that. :)

    Anti-Sorabjifest, Fort Worth!

V, if you buy Dodi a ticket to come, I'll definately be there. :D

By V on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 01:29 pm:

Anti,so you also thought Dodo was good looking?myself I thought "how come i,m posting to such a good looking gal?

By droopy on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 01:37 pm:

i know of giger. the concept of a show would appeal to me.

you know, it occurs to me that we missed the perfect opportunity for a fort worth sorabjifest. right now we're in the last heats of the van cliburn competition. seems like a good way to coax mark thomas himself to a fest. and i think there's a gun show going on somewhere - something for everyone.

By Antigone on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 01:43 pm:

Did I say anything about looks? Silly man.

By V on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 02:51 pm:

To get Big Mark to come to a fest would be real hard,he allready has the same glasses as Bill Gates.

By moonit on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 03:09 pm:

Is there a peanut butter cup fest?

By V on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 - 03:18 pm:

Ft. Worth vs. NY ("The State That Has Everything") - the arts & entertainment capital of the world!? LOL! Talk about your Politically Incorrect no-brainer of the century!ehe

Jeff, you'll receive more exposure on one street corner in Times Square (crossroads of the world) than you would, if you had spent a lifetime in Ft. Worth, or all of TX for that matter!ehehe

Soho ring a bell!? Warhol? The Museum of Modern Art!? The Guggenheim!? Every artiste' (ehe) worth their salt, dreams of showcasing their work in Manhattan - center of the universe.

Even if it means living in a cardboard box, as Jean-Michel BASQUIAT did during the '80s!ehe Remember, anyone with talent, beauty, or money eventually sets up shop in The Big Apple to find out where they stand against the best of the best.

NYC is the cultural, financial, fashion, retail, trade, cuisine, arts, theatre, media & communications capital of the world.

NYC is home to more art galleries, more museums, and more of everything than any other single city on planet earth. That's precisely why NYC (particularly Manhattan) is the most expensive US city to live in. You pay to have every amenity at your disposal! -D, NYC "I hope people watch this movie (Sidewalks of New York) and still see New York as the greatest city in the world. I certainly do!" -EDWARD BURNS, actor/filmmaker, umpteenth celebrity NYer
