my orders have been handed down and, unfortunately, i'm being deployed to the UK in early october. i'll be there until at least mid-january. make me proud in NOLA. and take lots of pictures of bare bodies.

i was in london nate in October. Its not bad at all. If i may suggest some items of interest....(not sure how long you'll be there) but you can dig some good rock at "Club Wag"...i believe its in the Nottingham/Soho area, if i recall correctly. Chinatown rocks. Picadilly is overrated. A 2 hour train ride from Waterloo station to Dover is so god damn worth it. Spend the day and come back. The countryside is tremendous

it's okay to be a tourist sometimes. england has some amazing museums and historic sites to visit. (*) robin hood museum in nottingham. presented as realistically as possible, including smell. (*) york cathedral and the surrounding area. no cars allowed, so you can walk down the middle of the street. the cathedral itself is a wonderfully gothic structure, i couldnt' see the inside because of the restoration back in 1999, but it must be finished now. (*) sterling castle in sterling, scotland. it's pretty far north, but it has the best view you'll get on the isle. gargoyles galore, and mary stuart (queen of scots) spent a good portion of her life there. (*) the cathedral in bath is built on the site where the first "english" king was crowned, in like 800 something. do go to the theater, and do use the underground. you can get anywhere using their public transport system. * * * do come to portland for sorabjifest 2002... it's looking like i won't be able to make nola (not with moving, parents and my boos taking a vacation) biut portland is wonderful and nice and centered on the west coast. i could even scout out some indie-pop shows.

shit im trying to scrounge money to get to Atlanta for the holidays. its been two xmas's in a row I havent been back. Grandma and grandpa are getting old. I just hate that to get back, head to NC and see her folks...all in all costs us around $1200 after airfares, car rentals and such, not to mention its xmas.
