I bet if Droopy were here he'd have some good drinking party games.

Not until the 4th of Aug Cz.

for the 4th of July party i'm going to tomorrow night, (July 3rd, Codependence Day,) i baked tonight a white coconut cake. it just came out of the oven and smells so good. it needs to be chilled overnight. tomorrow i am going to frost it with fluffy homemade buttercream and i'm going to decorate a US flag on top using blueberries and raspberries.

i've also been marinating homemade sangria.

the party is being hosted by R, the guy i had a crush on a while back. we're not friends, not really. we never see each other. ocassionally he will email me. i do know he just bought a house in south austin, one of those old, small, brick, workingclass-chiq kind built in the 30's.

for a while i didn't hear from him at all, i suppose because he ended up dating that girl here who decided she didn't want to be my friend anymore. but about a month after they broke up (unbeknownst to me) they both emailed me on the same day. i answered both their emails, but he was the only one to mention their break-up.

he emails me every now and again. i never initiate between us, but when he does, i always ask him if he wants to get together. inevitably i get the "i'm really busy..." line, at which point i stop emailing him. then a few weeks later he'll email me again.

so yeah, there's been energy between us since day one. i think he wants me to chase him but i won't.

i will, however, go to his party. i don't think i've actually laid eyes on the man in 3 months or so. in addition to cake and sangria, i'm returning a huge TV that i borrowed from some kickball friends of his a long time ago but which i've only used twice to watch movies, and i'm bringing my hula hoops. i have to strap them to the hood of my car with my old surfboard rack.
