i figger i'll just put this out there --

i'd like to upgrade my os to at least 9, better yet 10 or higher.

if anyone here can score me a cheap or free 300+ mhz processor, i'll gladly pay little to nothing for it.

    gracias.

Ooh. If we're gonna start a hardware wishlist... I'd like old hard drives for my RAID array... With an emphasis on the 'I' in RAID. (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Discs)
    .
I found some 47G SCSI full-height drives for $13 that I'm going to start with. They're mad cheap, but I'll probably eat it in the shipping.

whatcha got that you need redundancy?

i'm basically trying to decide if i should sell or donate this old mac, or if i should upgrade it. i'd like to upgrade it, but i don't really need it for anything.

i just like the idea of having a mac. kinda like i like having my ultrasparc, even though it's not currently plugged in.

I just convinced my boss to give me a development box with an AMD64 3200 and a gig 'o' ram.

    It still cost under $1k.

    Swank.

    dave.:
The wonderful folks at Server4you.net took my server down at the end of January and then refused to respond to my near-daily emails for a whole month. Then when they finally gave me access to my machine again, I found that they had formatted the damn thing two days after they took it down. I was literally in the process of setting up a backup system when they took it down. It hurt. Bad.
Also, I just have a lot of data such as writing, pictures, and whatnot that I don't want to lose due to a hard drive failure. My hard drives are old.
    And it's a fun project.

    Antigone: Daaaamn.

my hard drives are old, too.

my wish list is an average laptop, somewhere in the 1 to 1.5ghz range, 2 or 3 of those neato 40 gig ethernet hard drives, and one of those wireless media thingys to play tunes through my stereo. oh, and an ipod.

    simplify.

how much is your employee discount?

By Lapis on Friday, March 12, 2004 - 01:59 pm:

    10%, but it's 20% next friday. I think it's $199, so that'll mean it'll be down to $159.
