By Rowlfe on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 08:00 pm:

one of my co-workers said in the US you dont have square head screwdrivers...

is this true? seems like bullshit. i cant understand why you wouldnt, its a better screwdriver, doesnt fuck up the screws like a star head or flat head can...

By jack on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 09:20 pm:

we have them, but phillips and flatheads are more common. the square head is a canadian invention and it hasn't taken over the us yet.

By jack on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 09:26 pm:

the results of my quick web search indicate that Phillips (the guy) got some sort of racket going with American manufacturing in the Thirties, thus preventing widespread use of the squarehead.

Squarehead??? Well it has to come to many kind of size, but I rather use philip and flatheads.

By dave. on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 11:50 pm:

i much prefer squarehead. especially when using a screwgun.

what we usually get here are combo phillips/squarehead screws.
