A while back i used to know this trick with Bell phones that if you press 331 and the last 4 digits of the payphone's number and hit the hang-up key 3 times then hang up it would ring. but now it seems to only work on 3% of the phones now. Does anyone know of any payphone codes like that that still work?

UP DOWN UP DOWN A B START will give you 99 lives in contra, dude.

How did you come up with your 3% ratio?

I remember reading some big document that had these types of codes for each area code. They seem to mostly be phased out, but I remember in my area (405 - central Oklahoma) you could call 890-777-7777 and it would tell you your phone number.

This was great for finding out people's numbers when you are at their house and they won't tell you. I know, it's not a common situation, but I've used it before.
