    I received a phone call from this number and I found out it is in New York.....but it is in either Yorkville, Carnagie Hill, or Spanish Harlem. I suspect it is Spanish Harlem. It would do a world of good if someone could help me find out for sure.

    I too have received numerous (sometimes 3 a day) calls from that number, but have never answered them. This happened through the month of Aug and has now started up again.

    I have found one other website with mentions of this number, and it seems to be linked with some money scam:

    I have recieved 4 calls from this number on my cell phone and two on my home number (which is unlisted). I answered my cell phone once, but no one spoke to me. I'm puzzled by this. Has anyone else had the same experience?

    That number will appear when someone calls collect from the payphone at South Beach psychiatric hospital in Staten Island. The number of that pay phone is 718-667-9546.

    I've received a couple of phone calls from this number on my cell, and each time it's a taped message from a sports handicapper.

    A friend called this morning from Spain. Usually my caller ID simply says “Unavailable”, but today “646-536-5516” appeared on the display.

    Since my friend is not involved in any fraudulent activities, I am inclined to believe that this number is showing up on my Caller ID due to a telephone number identification issue between my friend’s international long distance carrier and a central switching office in New York.

    I recently got a phone call from my brother, Robert Sherez. When I went to look at my caller ID box, the number 646-536-5516 came up. This is supposedly from a person who tells me that he lives in Hawaii. Oh, and by the way.......he ALSO tells me that he works for the justice department. Don't think I want to believe that either!

    Another link in the chain-- I received a fax today for the usual stock "pump-and-dump" scam, this time for Twister Network. The Caller ID showed 646-536-5516 as the number.

    In the past year this number has been generated twice before when I received fax calls on my cell phone and home phone.
