ok, this is a very cool site- i have noticed that there only a few payphones in grand island nebraska-where i live- and i am starting my own database of payphones in my city.
    - first question- Is the number on the payphone the number OF the payphone?

    - Me and my friend were in the local mall, and there were 2 payphones about 10 feet away from each other- we decided to call from 1 payphone to the other - is this possible? it did not work for us. I put money in and called the number on the front of the payphone- it did not ring.

-when you call a payphone, do you usually get someone to answer?

-Does it cost money to call a payphone in another state?
