HELLO I AM A PAYPHONE PROVIDER IN WISCONSIN AND HAVE MANY SUPERMAN BOOTHS. THE REASON THEY ARE BECOMING EXTINCT IS THERE ARE NOT ADA COMPLIANT AND ARE TO EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE IN THIS DAY AND AGE. PAYPHONES ARE BECOMING VERY RARE THESE DAYS AND THAT IS WHY WE NEED PEOPLE TO KEEP USING THEM IF WE DO NOT IN THE CASE OF A BLACKOUT OR TERRIOST ATTTACK WHERE WILL WE BE WITH NO PAYPHONES....

Booths are definatly becoming more and more obscure. But these booths aren't going to waste. Chances are your local phone company keeps them in some warehouse somewhere. I happen to know that my local Telco keeps surplus supplies including payphone supplies and sells it to generate extra revenue. So I suggest you try contacting your local telephone company and inquire about such a thing. It's worth a shot and you wouldn't have to go too far to get it most likely. Buying off the itnernet, it could come from god knows where; not to mention shipping would cost and arm and leg.

I am also looking for a payphone booth. We need to install a sheltered locaton for a payphone near a ship dock. We have not had much success in finding one. The local telcom co (Verizon, formerly New York Bell) recalled and destroyed theirs. I did locate a firm in Canada, Jaro Industries <www.industriesjaro.com> which would sell a used booth for $1200. Any other leads?
