...for almost 3 weeks now. Last night I got six hours and today I was positively drunk with well-being.
Typically, I'll fall asleep around 1:00 a.m. and sleep until 2:00 a.m. and then wake up again and be unable to sleep until 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. or so. Then up at 6:00 a.m.

Today: I slept in until 7:00. It felt decadent. I didn't want to cry or kill anyone once today.

By ... on Saturday, July 1, 2006 - 03:56 am:

i went to bed at 6am and woke up at 9 with an indefatigable hardon. couldn't get back to sleep until 11. slept off and on until my usual wakeup time of 2:00, but was awake for about a full hour in between. kept dreaming about the end of my bed not being there. for months i had dreams about a snake that surrounded the bottom part of my bed, and how the verdict in the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui would (or would not) cause that snake to crush my legs.

    yer both fucking nuts.

    nyquil.

By spiracle on Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 05:36 pm:

    nyquil keeps me awake..

benedryl is where it's at...two of those and i had better set TWO alarms..accross the room

By eri on Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 09:35 pm:

I hear that and raise one glass of wine with the benadryl!

By kazu on Friday, September 22, 2006 - 11:14 am:

I've been giving my dog benadryl for his allergies. It's supposed to make him sleepy but it does not. 25mg for a 16 lb dog. Nothing.

By eri on Friday, September 22, 2006 - 11:25 am:

Geez, that's just sad. 25 mg is all I need. And 12.5mg will knock out the kids if they are having a bad night or allergy issues.

Tell your dog to get with the program, cuz drugs are good M'kay!

By V on Sunday, September 24, 2006 - 03:07 pm:

...to wake up on time you need one alarm clock at the head and one at the feet.My Sister has the best alarm clock in the World,a blue strobe light flashes, and you get a Police siren at full blast, but it can give you a heart attack, at the same time,v wants one of them, the alarm clock, not the heart attack.

By Spider on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - 04:24 pm:

    Nyquil keeps me awake, too.

Nothing puts me to sleep, that I've taken.

One day last year I had really bad allergies. I took an
Allegra and then two diphenhydramine pills, and then
two roommates and I went to the library (45 minutes away).
While we were standing in line, the diphenhydramine
kicked in very suddenly -- I started slurring my words
and nearly dropped my books. I went and laid down in
the car, and remained lying down during the lulling
car ride home, but I never slept. My eyelids were too
heavy to keep open, but my brain was racing.

I repeated the dosage maybe a month or two after that,
when I was deliberately trying to make myself fall asleep
and again -- my body was exhausted but my brain wouldn't
turn off. All the sleep and anti-anxiety medication I've taken
has worked (or rather, not worked) the same way.

By sarah on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - 04:59 pm:

10 mg valium + 5 mg ambien = 8-9 hours of restful sleep.

and no hangover of any sort!

By Czarina on Saturday, September 30, 2006 - 10:19 am:

Benedryl usually works for sleep, but on some people it has the opposite affect. It'll make em hyper.

By eri on Saturday, September 30, 2006 - 03:05 pm:

I wish I could go back to taking NOTHING to sleep, but when I tried I got horrible migraines. It sucked.

By V on Saturday, September 30, 2006 - 08:40 pm:

...de-caff gives me an extra 2 hours sleep a night, but I still miss Columbian coffee a lot.
