    I went and saw Rollins Band last night with Kazoo. This is the tour with Keith Morris where they play all Black Flag covers and all proceeds go to pay for DNA testign for the West Memphis Three (www.WM3.org for more info on this worthy cause).

    it was AWESOME. It was so amazing to see Keith Morris ripping it up on stage. He holds his own with Rollins. The band really did a fantastic job with the music too - now I see why Rollins picked these guys to be his new band. This tall guy came out and joined them a couple times on guitar too - I'm still trying to figure out who that was. For the encore, they played Ramones songs, Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Rockaway beach and others - it was so cool. It was such a good show. If they come near you, don't miss it - it will knock your boots off. One of the best shows I've seen in years.

    his regular band, midget handjob is worth a look too.

    I saw Rollins a couple of months ago, at a spoken word gig.... the first 40mins was a good, cutting look at politics and current events (the war was just starting or close to it).. then he went into 3 hours of ego stroking, name dropping etc... Very disappointing... "I was at a Johnny Cash show with Rick Ruben, hes a major producer, and Tom Petty, I'm sure you all know him." and the like for hours....




    He's getting old, it's starting to show.... kinda sad....



    overall, it was Ok/funny show... but not as empassioned as his earlier days....

    I saw him a couple months ago, too, and it wasn't anything like that. Not as self-deprecating as the old days, but still sharp and on top of it. Everyone has off nights, i suppose.
