    Dear Jammers,

A strange and wonderful thing has happened since September 11th - the anti-consumerism and peace movements have started to come together. BUY NOTHING DAY 2001 could be our first opportunity to go global and make some much-needed noise.

A group of jammers in Fairbanks has come up with an easy way to bring the big ideas together. On November 23, a large group will meet outside the Fred Meyers store - the best-known consumer symbol in Alaska. Each person will be wearing a t-shirt that reads, "PEACE WORKS." They then plan to silently walk in single file though the store until they're sure that the shoppers are making the connection.

If you haven't decided what to do for Buy Nothing Day and beyond, consider this simple, effective jam. George W. and Tony Blair say shopping is the best way to protect First World freedoms and support the new war. We say, "Buy Nothing - For Peace!"

    Cheers,
    Staff and Volunteers

Oh what I would love to say to this fool.

But, I believe we shouldn't speak ill of the dead.

Buster, you were alot funnier when you where alive.

I used to really like adbusters, but then they
lost their sense of humor and started treating
    it like a religion.

So fuck them, I went out and supported my
local used bookstores and used cd shop on
    Buy Nothing day.

    whats a jammer?

By Jethro Toll Booth on Monday, November 26, 2001 - 03:03 pm:

they call themselves culture jammers for
some reason, like they are putting up a
roadblock between the average joe and
    consumerism

adbusters is a total joke. the articles are weak,
their fake ads arent funny and they as
mentioned take themselves far too seriously.

By wisper on Monday, November 26, 2001 - 04:57 pm:

they have totally lost their sense of humour,
which used to be the highpoint. It's getting
kinda scary and sad. They're going to regime
    themselves into the ground.
