Who is Opus the Penguin? Sounds familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

By Nate on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 06:49 am:

holy moly, that would kick ass.

By Nate on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 06:50 am:

    I love Opus!
    That wopuld kick ass

By Hal on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 12:20 pm:

    WHOA!!!!

Opus ruled, when I was a kid I always was scared to learn to shave for fear I would shave off my nose or my ass.

Opus kicked ass, so did Bill the cat.

By The Watcher on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 03:58 pm:

My cat is named for Opus.

I have all the Bloom County/Outland books. Several stuffed Opuses. I even gave my wife's stepniece (if that's the correct term) one when she was born.

I desparately wanted one of those penquin crossing signs. Never got it.

I taped "A Wish for Wings That Work". And, watch it every Christmas.

I keep praying that Berkle Breathed will come to his sences and start the strip again. We need Bloom County now more than ever!!!

I'm blathering here. You can tell I'm more than your average Bloom County fanatic.

You opened my Anxiety Closet, didn't you.

By The Watcher on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 04:06 pm:

I didn't mention I always send Bill & Opus greeting cards when I can find them.

I think I'm possesed. Binkley's spirit has deffinately taken over.

    You have made my day!!!

By Hal on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 05:37 pm:

    Flesh colored band-aids...

heh heh, that was always my favorite.

By The Watcher on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 05:47 pm:

One of mine was Oliver Wendal Jones in his pirate outfit yelling at the computer "avast and prepare to be boarded"

Although my favorite characters were Opus, Bill the Cat, Binkley, Steve Dallas, Oliver Wendal Jones, Milktoast. And, occassionaly Milo Bloom.

By The Watcher on Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 05:54 pm:

Have you ever read "Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big"?

Anyone with children must get that book. It's great for young ones. It is both funny and cute.

I did miss one book though, it might be available now, "The Last Basselope".

    They forgot Binkley's dad.

For a good while he was a major/minor character.

By Antigone on Friday, December 21, 2001 - 06:34 pm:

I had a cat named Bill long before there was any stinking Bloom County character.

    I have prior art, dammit.
