    Waylon Jennings passed away today.

Not a huge fan but grateful for his contribution to country music.

Is he the MOnday Night Football song guy?

By eri on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 - 08:53 pm:

Waylon Jennings? There is a name I haven't heard in years. One of the few country singers I liked (and I can't stand most).

    That is a loss.

He has a home here in Chandler,AZ.

dougie - if you're talking about "are you ready for some football?", that was hank williams jr.

you might remember waylon as the guy who did the "dukes of hazzard" theme.

He was also the person (many years ago) who flipped the fateful coin with Richie Valenz as to who would go on the bus or the plane. He lost the coin toss and therefore lived to share his music.

if you haven't heard the name waylon jennings in a long time, you must not live in texas.

i went to a Frye's superstore a few weekends ago and they had an enormous, double life-sized poster on the wall of waylon in the 70's while on stage.

his guitar player in the picture looks like the lead singer of AC/DC.

    Bon Scott or Brian Johnson?

I should go on Beat the Geeks as the " 80s
    Metal Geek."

I watched it last night and they had the Hip-
hop geek, who was a scrawny white guy who
REALLY looked like he lived in his parents'
basement. The other geeks look like they
would actually be cool to hang out with.

    Waylon Jennings

    Forever a Good'ole Boy.

I always liked his era of country. Better than this pop crap they try to stuff down our throats.

A LONG TIME FORGOTTEN THE DREAMS THAT JUST FELL BY THE WAY
THE GOOD LIFE HE PROMISED AIN'T WHAT SHE'S BEEN LIVING TODAY
BUT SHE NEVER COMPLAINS OF BAD TIMES AND THE BAD THINGS HE'S DONE
SHE JUST TALKS ABOUT THE GOOD THEY'VE HAD
AND ALL THE GOOD TIMES TO COME

    CHORUS:
SHE'S A GOOD HEARTED WOMAN IN LOVE WITH HER GOOD TIMIN' MAN
SHE LOVES HIM IN SPITE OF HIS WICKED WAYS SHE DON'T UNDERSTAND
    THROUGH TEARDROPS AND LAUGHTER
THEY'LL PASS THROUGH THIS WORLD HAND IN HAND
THIS GOOD HEARTED WOMAN LOVIN' HER GOOD TIMIN' MAN

HE LIKES THE BRIGHT LIGHTS THE NIGHT LIFE
    AND THE GOOD TIMIN' FRIENDS
AND WHEN THE PARTY'S ALL OVER SHE'LL WELCOME HIM BACK HOME AGAIN
LORD SHE DON'T UNDERSTAND BUT SHE DOES THE VERY BEST THAT SHE CAN
SHE'S A GOOD HEARTED WOMAN LOVIN' HER GOOD TIMIN' MAN

    REPEAT CHORUS TWICE
