Nader considering another try at White House in 2004

sorabji.com: Are there any news?: Nader considering another try at White House in 2004
By spunky on Monday, June 30, 2003 - 09:42 pm:

    You might get another chance

With the left leaning Bush has been doing lately, he is appearing more and more everyday as a liberal to his core supporters, we might see another Perot effect.

By semillama on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 - 07:07 pm:

That says a LOT about who his core supporters are, if they are starting to see him as a liberal.

Wait - are they from that group that disapporoves of the use of fire? Then it all makes sense.

Nader running for pres is the best thing that could happen to Bush's campaign

By spunky on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 - 04:30 pm:

I dunno, I'm telling you, there are a LOT of republicans who are getting sick of the cradle to grave agenda they are seeing Bush push lately.

By semillama on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 - 06:31 pm:

I don't think Nader would get as big a vote as he did last time.

Although it's interesting to hear that there are republican voters who aren't happy with Bush - their voices must get squashed down hard.

By eri on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 - 11:20 pm:

I dunno really, I mean there were republicans who weren't happy with Bush Sr. and in comes Perot during the next election and fucking Clinton takes office. I mean, the republicans could be thinking that Nader going for office would be against the dems, but I think it will work more against them this time. People will vote for him to try to get Bush out of office (remember, I lived 8 years in Kansas City and know how the fucking rednecks there think, though I find them insufferably stupid). Those idiots at least will vote for Nader to get rid of Bush, and it might be enough to cost necessary electoral votes.

Nader pulling Bush votes sounds like an odd concept to me.

Burgundy with Aged Cheddar Kettle Chips are really good.

By spunky on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 01:35 am:

lots of nader fans here, honey. be careful.

By Platypus on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 02:12 am:

Nader needs to eat a bowl of hot fuck.

And the Dems had better come up with a decent fucking candidate this time.

By semillama on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 11:31 am:

Yeah, I don't see a lot of republicans voting for Nader - especially ones who think he's too liberal. If they are unhappy, they just won't vote period, I think.

And I don't think you can blame Perot for costing Bush sr his reelection anymore than you could say that Nader spoiled Gore's election (the supreme court plus some dumb moves on the part of Gore and some sneakiness on the part of the GOP did that).

By spunky on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 11:42 am:

I don't think he is too liberal. I think he is too socialist.

By semillama on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 12:03 pm:

I meant republican voters who think Bush is too liberal - unless you meant they think Bush is too socialist?

Did you see Ann Coulter's latest insanity about how Joe McCarthy was right? Maybe there was some toxic chemical in some of her beauty products or something that got absorbed into her skin, or maybe she's just EVIL.

By patrick on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 12:20 pm:

Trace, im not sure who you are referring to when you say there are lots of Nadar fans here. Maybe youre just infering that as a given due to the rest of our politics, which would further imply how you don't really pay attention.

I've never advocated Nadar, platy hasnt, and ive never really seen any serious outspoken support for him or his politics. i think he's make a horrible canidate. though in the coming election, if he runs, he will get my vote. but thats more strategic and symbolic than anything else.

I voted for Nader. I knew he wouldn't win, but I wanted to support a third-party candidate and help get them some funding.

By kazoo on Thursday, July 3, 2003 - 12:57 pm:

I want a candidate who will see to it that Barbara Streisand is never allowed to talk about politics ever again.
