Source China has expressed its "strong indignation" over a "criminal" orgy involving hundreds of Japanese tourists during an urgent meeting with Japanese embassy officials, the foreign ministry said. The alleged orgy at a hotel in southern China's Zhuhai city has sparked public anger as it reportedly took place on September 18 -- on the eve of the anniversary of the start of Japan's World War II occupation of China on September 18, 1931. "This criminal incident of an odious nature harmed the feelings of Chinese people and also seriously harmed Japan's international image," a foreign ministry official told Japanese diplomats Monday, the ministry said on its website. "The Chinese side expresses strong indignation regarding the above mentioned actions of the Japanese," the foreign ministry official said. "The Chinese side hopes the Japanese side will teach its citizens to strictly abide by Chinese laws when visiting China, step up moral restraint and not do anything that is illegal or that would harm the feelings of the two countries' people," the official said. A Japanese embassy spokesman said Japanese officials said at the meeting that such an incident would be "regrettable" if it indeed occurred. "We said although the factual aspects of this issue are not clear yet, if things had taken place as reported, it would be regrettable," the spokesman said. "It's quite natural for Japanese visitors in China to observe Chinese laws and regulations. We hope that this will not cause a negative impact on our bilateral friendship," the spokesman quoted the Japanese embassy official as telling the Chinese side. The Japanese embassy spokesman declined to comment on the alleged orgy, saying Japan was still in the process of fact-finding. While prostitution is rampant in China and it is common for foreigners to be solicited around five-star hotels, the incident has ignited a wave of anti-Japanese sentiment, as many people are convinced the orgy was timed to humiliate China on the sensitive anniversary. ************************************************** It is a shame this would be concidered a crime. Maybe more events like these would ease tensions between the countries? And what is with the "harmed the feelings of Chinese people", are they upset they were not included???? Hmmm, US/French/Gernman orgy! This gives "Make Love not War" a whole new meaning! |
The Jordan Times newspaper said the brothers used axes to kill the unidentified sisters, aged 20 and 27, according to a BBC report. The brothers, now in detention, admitted they carried out the killing to uphold the "family honor." The practice is known in many Muslim communities as a way of applying justice to a woman deemed to have harmed a family's reputation. The Times said the 27-year-old sister left home two years ago to marry a man without her family's permission. Three months ago, her 20-year-old sister ran away to join her. Jordanian officials said someone tipped off the brothers about where the sisters were living. The men went into their home with axes and hacked them to death. "It was a brutal scene," the official said, according to the paper. "One victim's head was nearly cut clean off." On Sunday, the Jordanian parliament rejected a bill that would strengthen relevant laws, which currently mete out sentences as light as six months in prison for people guilty of honor killings. The Jordanian paper said, officially, 12 women are reported to have been killed this year for reasons of "family honor." Muslim slays daughter in 'honor killing' Kurdish refugee didn't approve of teen's relationship with Christian boy. A Muslim Kurdish refugee living in the UK was sentenced to life in prison today after being convicted of murdering his 16-year-old daughter because she had started a relationship with a Lebanese Christian boy and had become too "westernized." By stabbing his daughter in the neck, Abdalla Yones, 48, was performing what in the Muslim world is considered an "honor killing," an attack on a relative who has brought shame to the family. The murder occurred in the family's home in Acton, West London, according to the London Times. The paper reported Yones asked the judge to be executed for what the killer described as his "appalling" crime, but Judge Neil Denison told him he did not have the power to do so. Police believe there were 12 "honor killings" in the UK last year, and the Times reports officials are investigating members of the Muslim community who may have covered up such deaths. According to the paper, Heshu Yones was found in the family apartment bathroom last October with a twisted kitchen knife protruding from her neck. The girl reportedly planned to run away from home after beginning an affair with her Christian boyfriend. The Times says the girl's father is the first to plead guilty to an "honor killing" in Britain. "This is, in any view, a tragic story arising out of irreconcilable cultural differences between traditional Kurdish values and the values of western society," Denison said today, according to the report. Police say Yones slashed his wrist and jumped from a 25-foot balcony in an attempt to take his own life after killing his daughter. The paper quotes prosecutor John McGuinness as saying, "Her father, a strict Muslim, did not approve of her western lifestyle. She wanted to be with her friends and use a mobile phone quite often. "There was tension at home particularly with her father. He was not happy with her lifestyle and wanted her to live within the Muslim religion and cultural traditions." Letters the girl had written that were presented in the case included evidence of domestic violence against her. "Hey, for an older man you have a good strong punch and kick. I hope you enjoyed testing your strength on me, it was fun being on the receiving end. Well done," one letter written by the teen said. ************************************************** I know these stories do not typify most muslims, but man these two just caught my attention. |
Well, not in the case of China. |
