    Dave Blood RIP

    How come this never happens to boy bands who really deserve it??

    For those of you unfamiliar with the great Dave Blood, he was one of the most distinctive bass players in punk rock, if not THE most distinctive player. He wasn't the best but when a Dead Milkmen tune came on, you knew it instantly from that bass. His playing was so full of joy, he was a real integral part of the sound of the band.

    I've been a Dead Milkmen fan since early high school. I still remember how I first heard them. We could only get the college radio station if we hooked up the cable to the stereo for some reason. I was listening one night and "Beach Party Vietnam" came on. I was so excited by that song that I woke up my mom to tell her about it.

    I'm so glad I got to see them play.
