    the first thing to pop into my mind was that paul newman died at the same age as my grandfather. they were ten years apart. the first newman movie to pop into my head was "somebody up there likes me" - a 1956 movie based on the life of rocky graziano. it was the first newman movie i'd ever seen, when i was a kid.
