    Anyone knows where the germany submarine U-505 are at right now ? Well it is at the Mueseum of science and industries, Today, I got up real early to take my daughter to have a field day with me, we toured there today to find germany submarine U-505 very interesting but, I find this very odd. when you see the submarine, it is so huge, and yes, it is real. When we got inside, it is very cramped , I couldn't understand why or how they manage those castrophe when it come to a real action. I was told of that, every sumbarine crew are at least 5 feet tall in order to perform their job, I mean 5 feet or less. When I came in, I have to bend my knee almost the most of time. the odd thing is that, at one particular place smells like a shaved cream.

    My husband is from Westchester and my favorite nephew lives in Lombard.I've been there several times and I did see that sub and it freaked me out.Talk about claustrophobia,it must have been hell.

    my great uncle was served on a submarine during ww2. i can't remember what exactly, but something blew up in his right hand and he lost his is index finger and thumb. he was about 5' 8".

    J, talk about being in germany submarine like U-505, I read the stories about the submarine, it employed 53 crews including the captain. I mean being inside the submarine, they also tell us about the diesel engine. it was deafening. at the both front and back, if you are sleeping in the torpedo firing room, and you will have to give up your sleeping folding up bed ,so that the crews can load the torpedo into the ballast tube. you don't wanted to breath the diesel fume. I would suggest that you see one in Chicago and see the submarine for yourself. And now, can anyone tells me how much does one piston from the engine weight alone?

    they don't make good subs in the motherland. And i can't stand mine toasted or with sauce driping out the end while the rest is cold and respectively dry as, well, a boat out of water. Chicagoland subs aren't real for certain. My favorite used to be the tuna salad five small scoops with black olives, lettuce, onion, tomatoe, and oil vinegar mustard mayo parmesan and oregano, salt pepper and nana peppers.

    i remember a grinder shop in east greewich, rhode island; it was run by greeks. this was back in the seventies when there where still italian butcher shops where huge salamis and soccer ball-sized provolone cheeses suspended in nets would hang together pornographically. the flavors where intense. when i moved to texas, i never heard the word grinder used again. but i'm near enough to louisiana that i could probably find a pretty good po' boy.
