    how bizarre. the other knitting thread somehow accidentally turned into a password-only private conversation or something.

    anyway, I'm not ignoring you.

    I only bought enough yarn for a baby blanket (or a shawl).

    if it ends up gettng finished, it'll end up being a shawl. and it'll end up being mine. it's a nice, unbleached cotton I bought for real cheap in mexico. cotton yarn is ridicuously expensive in the states. any yarn except for those horrible bright drugstore acrylics are prohibitively expensive (it costs way more to knit a wool sweater than to buy one).

    the baby turned out to be as boy. even though I bought it lots of newborn dresses and embroidered blouses because I really, really wanted my friend to have a girl.

    baby boys are boring to shop for. so few clothes. and next thing you know he'll be a little boy and probably interested in SPORTS or something.

    i don't know, sometimes i used to wish i had a little boy to shop for. girls are so fussy. cleo only wants to wear skirts, every day, even in the dead of winter.
