    Oh. My. God.

People -- RUN! Do not walk. Mow down old ladies & kids if you must. But GO, NOW to the nearest open supermarket & buy yrself some B & J's Coffee Hazelnut Swirl.

"Coffee ice cream loaded with Expresso Fudge-covered hazelnuts & swirls of Coffee Rum Fudge."

... there are simply no words.

I know B&J's recently inked a deal w/some huge dairy conglomerate to buy them out & make the 2 aging hippies mega-rich. And they swear their manufacturing process won't be compromised. But I'm telling ya/this new flavor must be their swan song/a parting gift to the ice-cream lovers of the world. Becuz ice cream simply doesn't get any better than this.

A woman must have invented this flavor.
Rather/a goddess -- the great Ice Cream/PMS-Food goddess on high!

I 1st tried it yesterday. Finished the entire pint in less than an hour. Which is a record for me. I wd've re-upped the same nite/but Publix was closed. Kash & Karry is open til 11pm/but they didn't have it.

I went back to Publix today & bought the last 3 pints. Had one for dinner -- nothing else/just ice cream. I've promised myself that I will make the remaining 2 pints last thru Friday.

Only once before in my life have I ever bought 3 pints of B&J's at once. And that was when there was a 3-for-$6.00 sale on B&J's.

I am an avid B&J's fan/as you well know. But sweartagod/this Coffee Hazelnut Swirl is the only food I can remember that gave me intense sexual fantasies from the moment I first tasted it.

Every time I slide a spoonful in my mouth/all I can think of is how great it wd be to have a really enormous hard-on 5 inches in front of my face/so I cd smear Coffee Hazelnut Swirl all over it & go to town...

GO, NOW & BUY SOME before it's no longer available! (Esp. you, Sem. You sound like you cd use a really good ice cream fix.)

This stuff is TOTALLY AWESOME! THE BEST EVER!

By J on Wednesday, May 17, 2000 - 11:40 am:

    Sounds better than a vibrator!!!

By Dougie on Wednesday, May 17, 2000 - 11:49 am:

Starbucks' Java Chip is pretty damn good, even though I'm anti-Starbucks. They and CVS pharmacy are slowly taking over the east coast.

By patrick on Wednesday, May 17, 2000 - 12:21 pm:

i just don't get excited about these types of things.

my wife on the other hand is a catalog whore though, she actually spends the time to look at the most ridiculous catalogs and enjoys them. i JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND IT

By J on Wednesday, May 17, 2000 - 12:27 pm:

Thats why woman are from bras and men are from penis.

By sarah on Wednesday, May 17, 2000 - 06:58 pm:

what iz dis ting you say dessert?

By R.C. on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 02:55 am:

Sarah -- indulge yrself, girl! You'll burn it all off at tomorrow's work-out anyway. This stuff really is To Die For.

Plus/aren't you training for a marathon or swimathon or something? You gotta carbo-load before those things anyway. Might as well be the most sinfully-sensational carbs you can find. :)

I truly cannot say enuf abt this ice cream.

And Patrick: What's wrong w/gorging on catalogs?

I subscribe to at least 6 catalogs that feature stuff I will never be able to afford. I get the Needless Mark-up Xmas catalog every year. Ditto for Tiffany's. The Sotheby's Important Jewels acution catalog/when I can get it. The catalog for the Winter Antiques show at the Armory in NY. I used to get this Italian (or was it French?) lingerie catalog... $200 for a pr.of hand-made silk panties. And the SFA catalogs/for the shoes. I even buy Vogue or Harper's in Nov/Dec. just to drool over the fur ads.

And you shd see some of my bookmarks!

It's no different than what guys do w/Playboy. The point is to dream oft he stuff you *don't* have.

S'nothing wrong w/it. A look is free. At least she's not spending you both broke actually buying that stuff.

By patrick on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 12:25 pm:

what do guys do with playboy?

i haven't seen Playboy since i was roughly thirteen.

Although i did watch a lesbian porn made by one of our authors, it's fresh from the PC correct sex think tank/sex shop Good Vibrations in SF...it's called How To Fuck in High Heels, great name, although I thought the first series called Bend Over Boyfriends was much more entertaining.

Catalog window shopping seems to be a waste of time. If you have NO intentions of buying, cookware or linens, i see no reason to look at them.

By Nate on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 03:11 pm:

i read playboy. so does my girlfriend.

By patrick on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 03:52 pm:

    "....for the articles" of course!

By mistaswine on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 08:13 pm:

playboy could easily stand on its own without the airbrushed bimbopics.

funny how everyone seems to forget that some of the most renowned writers and controversial figures of the late 20th century have shown up in that magazine's roster. alex haley, vladimir nabokov, robert anton wilson, norman mailer, truman capote, tim leary, salman rushdie come to mind...

and what other magazine/editor would have the balls and moral fortitude to give malcolm x equal time in 1963?

    please.

playboy magazine is a quality publication.

    feel that.

and let me cut the static at the jibs: there will be NO dissing of Hef on my watch.

i would kill to have his job.

hell, i'd kill YOU to have his job.

By Isolde on Thursday, May 18, 2000 - 08:23 pm:

Playboy is an excellent publication. I have a subscription. For the articles, of course.
I've never been a big catalogue person, though.

By Dougie on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 12:29 pm:

I subscribe to "Big Hairy Titted Skanks" for the articles.

By patrick on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 12:45 pm:

    who is dissing playboy?

By mistaswine on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 01:18 pm:

    i'll kick your ass!

By patrick on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 01:56 pm:

you can't kill me, im already dead

By Jay on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 02:08 pm:

playboy also printed that incredible 'laughing jesus' painting by Harvey Cox

By Dougie on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 03:03 pm:

How about Playgirl? Is it owned by Playboy? Is the literary quality as good? Do regular women read it -- in other words, it's Friday night, you're dateless, and you find yourself at the 7-11 buying Slurpees and Slim Jims, there's nobody else in the store and you notice Playgirl hidden behind the counter as you're paying for your snacks. Does Jane RegularDoe buy it, or turn her nose up at it? If she does, then who reads it?

By patrick on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 03:23 pm:

very few women buy/subscribe to Playgirl, most of it's readership consists of gay men.

By Nate on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 03:30 pm:

playgirl sucks. someone left the "Virgil Cannon" issue at my house.

it comes down to the advertisements in the back. if you see an ad for 45 midget fuck flicks for $9.99, you know you're not looking at quality.

    well,

By semillama on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 06:29 pm:

Has anyone seen my copy of 'Black Garterbelt"?

By Isolde on Friday, May 19, 2000 - 10:49 pm:

Playgirl sucks big green monkey dicks.
No, I haven't seen it. I'll keep my eyes open, though.

By J on Saturday, May 20, 2000 - 01:07 pm:

Patrick is right about playgirl,I use to get it for Brucifer when I lived with him,he like it.Last time I looked at one was when I was at a bookstore and Steve Tyler was in it.I just looked for a cheap laugh, but he didn,t show anything we hadn,t already seen.

By semillama on Saturday, May 20, 2000 - 06:19 pm:

Speaking of ice cream, I have just purchased a package of Completely Nuts, with pistachios, peanuts, chocolate covered pecans and chocolate covered cashews for sunday nite fox tv vege-out.

Speaking of Fox, "the tick" live action series debuts next fall.

By R.C. on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 12:40 am:

    Playgirl's wack.

I did used to pick up the occasional copy of Blue Boy magazine. The gay men's mags have the HOTTEST of the hotties! And they can show erections/which Playgirl doesn't.

Swine -- wd you *really* wanna be Hef? A senior citizen surrounded by Silicone-enchanced 20-somethings? And using Viagra as a recreational drug just to keep up w/them?

    Puleeze.

He's a pathetic, dirty old geezer at this point. He was never much to look at/even as a young-un. And the whole world knows if he didn't have the fame & $$/none of those bimbos wd be bothered w/his wrinkly ass.

I've always wished Playboy wd do the journalistic equivalent of the S.I. swimsuit issue. Once a year/they shd skip all the nudie shots & invite a half-dozen of the best writers from past issues to submit a long piece on anything each of them wanted to write abt...

    How cool wd that be?

By mistaswine on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 11:07 am:

    shit.

i didn't say i wanted to "be" Hef.

i said i wanted to have his job.

there's a world of difference between those two statements.

and who he has surrounding him is merely a reflection of his tastes and a prop for his image. the mansion would look a hell of a lot different if it were my playground, but whatever. to each his own.

calling the guy "pathetic" is kinda heavy-handed, don't ya think? there are a hell of a lot worse ways to spend your twilight years.

    i mean, really.

we should all be so lucky.

it sure beats the hell out of spending your last days surrounded by a bunch of cats.

By J on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 11:52 am:

Yea,better to be surrounded by alot of pussy like Hef,I bet they let him pork them too.

By mistaswine on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 12:05 pm:

i was a looking for a link to an article reviewing playboy's annual fiction issue, but i'm too busy to be bothered right now.

i think it comes out in the summertime.

yeah, it's still got the usual photospreads of the silicon-enhanced and collagen-injected, but nonetheless it's usually a pretty good read.

By droopy on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 01:08 pm:

there's a sad-looking little pic of hef in the latest vanity fair where he's sitting with his four unnatural-blond girlfriends at the oscar party.

still, i gained a lot of respect for that magazine from when i had a collection of old p.b.'s from the 50's to the 70's. i've since sold them, but i did read through all of them. what i remember the most are the interviews: some favorites were fellini, bergman, a surrealistic early 60's dylan, huey newton, the time they sent alex haley to interview the head of the american nazi party (something like that), who kept a gun on the desk through the whole interview.

    and the fiction.

i thinks they're the best record of that zeitgeist thang of any magazine i know.

By cyst on Monday, May 22, 2000 - 09:02 pm:

I can't believe we're talking about how good the articles in playboy are.

I'd take hugh hefner's job. I might make the photos less cheesy, but maybe not. I'd definitely keep the little centerfold autobio, though. that's always a hoot.

By Isolde on Tuesday, May 23, 2000 - 12:03 am:

This is off topic, but I spilled a whole bunch of crazy glue on my finger and I can't get it off and it feels all wierd and gross. Yuck. Thank God it's not sticky.
As for Playboy--good fiction can be found in odd places.
