"The freaks will be out in full force!"

"Seminar" at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York
    Strangers with Candy
    Monday, April 2, 2001
    6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Strangers with Candy, the brainchild of Second City veterans Amy Sedaris, Stephen Colbert, and Paul Dinello, did more than spoof the genre of
hyper-moralistic afterschool specials--it carved out its own brand of irreverent television while pushing the limits of social conventions and,
occasionally, good taste. Starring Sedaris as forty-six-year-old Jerri Blank, a former "user, boozer, and loser" who returns to Flatpoint High to turn over a new leaf, Strangers broke new ground in satire for three seasons on Comedy Central. The creators and cast members will reunite to discuss the show and take audience questions.

    In Person:
    Kent Alterman, Executive Producer
    Stephen Colbert, Creator/Writer/"Mr. Noblet"
    Paul Dinello, Creator/Writer/"Mr. Jellineck"
    Amy Sedaris, Creator/Writer/"Jerri Blank"

Did Comedy Central cancel that show too? I never liked it, but I know they had a hit with it, along with Upright Citizens' Brigade, which I'll never understand why the hell they cancelled that show -- it was frickin' brilliance.
