on a compilation on an abscure experimental record label.

"Culled from the endless hours of tape recorded during December 1996's Tora! Tora! Tora! festival, this single-disc set is an ideal distillation. If you were there, you already know. Mixed and produced by yours truly (Tom Smith a former Pussy Galore member)."

Tom, a bud we know from Atlanta, put on this amazing show of experimental bands local and international. Maybe you know some of them. I knew of only a few but the show was incredible. We played last on night 2 and because of the sheer volume of acts, we didnt get on until well after 3am and our audience consisted mostly of the few stragglers, drunks, and couple of EMT's who apparently had just gotten off work.

its one of the few recordings, other than our radio sessions, that exist from that era of Accustat. The stuff we came to create here in LA pales in comparison.

    The compliation includes:

Accustat, Alva, Amoeba (raftboy), Bobby Conn, Brian McMahon and the Choke Cherries, Davy Williams and LaDonna Smith, Delarosa, Dixie Blood Moustache, (Original Members of) Electric Eels (John Morton, Brian McMahon and Paul Marotta with Christian Brown and Paul Laurence), Eugene Chadbourne, Frosty, Harry Pussy, Hercules, Leslie Q, Liqourball, Loren MazzaCane Connors, Monotrona, Mr. Quintron, Quim Gremlin, Simeon + Obliterati, Splotch,Temple of Bon Matin, The Flying Luttenbachers, To Live and Shave in L.A., Zeke Sheck.

I've got one of Loren MazzaCane Connors' albums -- it's almost unlistenable.

How would you describe your sound?

By patrick on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:28 pm:

    incessant spacey drug drone rock

we were beyond easy to listen too.

most of the bands at the festival were difficult to listen too.

but there were a handful the shook the place up like Bobby Conn and the Silver Apples, who, mysteriously arent on this comp. Oh wait...i see its "Simeon + Obliterati"

The Flying Luttenbachers we're pretty ok too. A Weird Jesus Lizard meets John Zorn deal.

Where can we get it, Patrick?

(I really like that name Harry Pussy by the way. It's cute.)

By patrick on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 05:55 pm:

oh my god doug, if you heard Harry Pussy, you'd scream and pull your hair out.

im not sure the release date.

By Dougie on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 05:59 pm:

With a name like Harry Pussy, how bad could they be?

By patrick on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:15 pm:

its hard to say exactly but im willing to bet you couldn't get through one song.

its noise rock to an extreme.
