    My stepmother raises chickens and I was asking about what they liked to eat. Basically, the things will eat anything, and they feed 'em table scraps all the time. Turns out the ONLY thing they have ever declined to eat are Fruit Loops and other colored cereals they've tried to dump on them. Ever heard the old adage, "if you see the birds eating it, it's gotta be OK"...

    Uh-oh, Bryan! Does this mean red #9 is out to get me? Ha! That is a good point. i'm sure those sugar and chemical filled goodies would be better to use as insulation in my roof!!

    Froot Loops sure did taste good when I was a kid, but your taste buds seem to change with age. Recently I was at my brothers and I used some of his nine year old son's bubble gum flavored tooth paste. I truly thought I was going to barf. My niece and nephew both say that adult tooth paste is too "hot." Acually, as a child I remember thinking the same thing. What's the point of all this? I'm not sure. I think I'm just procrastinating from starting work.

    Actually, SheWeazel, I think that chickens have, inside of their dimwitted pea-sized cortical head interior, still managed to retain a certain amount of gut level instinct that says to them "..ahh..err...colored food...FOOD!!...ahh--no!..NO!!...no colored food * * * no good...eat other stuff" Perhaps they just haven't watched enough TV.
