devastation. Are all deepwater oil rigs as vulnerable? I'm surprised this hasn't happened before. Seems such a precarious process being so deep. I |
So why did the technical experts decide to drill "mid ocean" at such a risk, and without a plan B?? Could they have tapped the same huge resevoir by drilling in the swamps of Mississippi? I think it is such a travesty to see Halliburton's name associated with this disaster, too bad for the cement not being cured enough to withstand the pressure... Gasoline prices just dropped 25 cents in the past week. What makes sense anymore? |
i'm incredibly disheartened, saddened and angered by the season finale of Dancing With The Stars. actually, i've never watched the show before tonight, and i only made it through about 10 minutes and one 45-second dance routine. wtf is up with that show. i don't get it. tomorrow at work i have a meeting scheduled and the first agenda item is to discuss the end of Lost. oh, and can someone please get a scrabble invitation to daniel? |

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/us_and_canada/10174861.stm If that doesn't work this might help http://www.wimp.com/solutionoil Seriously the effects on the sea life is catastrophic, they should use some BP executives to plug the mess up. |
And can we trust the media who reported the "successful" capping of the hole (It's not a well, but a puncture of a high pressure 25,000 square mile dome that could have easily and less expensively and obviously more safely been had in Arkansas or Mississippi. Let's use the most expensive method of getting more dead dinosaurs to do the cororpate bidding. May be the anti-immigrant forces could join them at the bottom of the ocean too. F em all!!! (No I'm not bitter, but my nice beachy, white sand between my toes, vacation (June 26 to July 6) planned at the brand new $800,000 beach house on AMI ( I usually spend the fourth there on the island) is scuttled to go north (yes I said NORTH) to Canada. Where the hell are the white sand beaches and sunshine there? I'm looking for another beach to walk into the sunset from, cuz all of the gulf will be an oily dead mess for the rest of my life, and my kids' and grandkids' lives too). I wonder what my $30,000 investment in BP really is worth today? Maybe 10K???? |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6161691.stm on big condoms for small penised Indian men... Hey, may be we could plug the gaping hole with unused condoms, or perhaps even the ocean's supply of unrecycled plastic. We've have to move it from the Pacific waste ocean to the gulf, but hey, I bet Halliburton could do it!! |
non-sequiter from 9 to 40 in 18 months, i made WFMI my bitch. i {heart} you, John Mackey. |

OILY??? He cautioned again, however, that this so-called cut-and-cap effort could increase the flow of oil by as much as 20 percent until the containment dome is snugly in place. (NYTimes this morning on failure of saw cut) How can we have a good weekend when the fishing is this messed up?? |
now all we need is for nate to post something refuting their method and its viability. |
