she was shocked when i told her how much i didn't like it. she thought i was somewhat less of a person for disliking it. i thought so too. |
Sylvia Plath: *bllaaarrghh* |
Which is sorta funny, since I love Plath's poetry. In high school, the English Teacher (note initials: E.T... coincidence?) made us analyze 50 Plath poems in-depth as one of our "big projects." Anyhow. I have real respect for her as a subtle and skilled poet. The book was shit. Fuck the Cure, NIN, and Manson, I blame the entire "goth" movement on Sylvia Plath. And Gorey. He's dead, isn't he? |
I blame the goth movement on the man in my toilet who sells crack. |
fucking whore. |
we must have such different curriculums. or prehaps its because i didnt go to university. altho i earn a hell of a lot more than people i knew who did go. so there suckers! |
i said "dude, it's jack kerouac" he replied, "who's that' i didn't answer. goddamn shame a friend of mine wouldn't know who fucking jack kerouac is. |
sounds french. |

I hate when someone builds up a book for me. i'd much rather stumble across something great on my own out of the blue. but a friend that would recomend a Jack Kerouac book is probably steering you in the right direction. |
I still have all those other things to finish first, though! I've been reading "Light in August" for nearly two months! |
i haven't been reading any novels lately, just short stories in magazines. i recently got one of those "4 books for $1" offers from book-of-the-month-club. i can't resist free stuff. there didn't seem to boatloads of good fiction to choose from (most of it was 'lose weight' or 'have better orgasms'), but "a star called henry" is in there. |
