Reese

sorabji.com: Who are you?: Reese
THIS IS A READ-ONLY ARCHIVE FROM THE SORABJI.COM MESSAGE BOARDS (1995-2016).

By Reese on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 09:36 am:

I am a man who is on the verge of crisis.
I am at that threshold between "young adult" and "adult" (going to be 30 sooner then I will admit).
I have been "lurking" around these boards for about 2 years, watching. Posting every now and then as pseudonyms, but have recently decided to become active.
I will not disclose where I work or what I do, and I would ask that you respect that.
I have learned to respect all of you.
Each of you seems to have a unique perspective on life, and I enjoy the variety.

By Antigone on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 02:07 pm:

Variety is the spice of Sorabji.

Alas, it is just an illusion.

But, we will track you down eventually. In fact, you'll probably reveal yourself voluntarily. It happens to everybody. You should know that by now!

By Reese on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 02:21 pm:

    'aye

By TBone on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 05:05 pm:

One of our agents will be at your door shortly.

By Antigone on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:01 pm:

Awwwwww, fucknobber. Trace, is that you?

By The Watcher on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:23 pm:

    Warning! Warning!

    Allian eproaching!

Of course he could also be an under cover Fed.

Or, perhaps an agent of SPECTRE.

But, then again I'm quite paranoid today.

By Reese on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:40 pm:

Send your agents, the dogs will enjoy the snack

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:43 pm:

    Huh?

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:45 pm:

    137.242.1.50 = AIA
    my ip is 137.242.51.112

By Dougie on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 06:50 pm:

Yeah Tracey, unless you told one of your Kelly Airforce Base buddies about this place, what gives?

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 07:11 pm:

Kelly Air Force Base does not exist anymore....

Maybe someone found this address on a log somewhere on the firewall or proxy server.
I am researching. That IP is a mask IP address.

By Antigone on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 07:25 pm:

137.242.0.0-137.242.255.255 is all on the same netblock. But I'm pretty sure I saw "spunky" post from the same IP in a recent thread. Maybe he was spoofing you.

Hmmmm... I really oughtta finish the search tool I started. It's going to include the ability to list all of the IP's and netblocks someone has posted from.

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:20 pm:

Hey, I am now posting from afdsmeta1.lackland.af.mil
do an nslookup on it, and it will show you 137.242.51.111

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:23 pm:

now i am afds_dcs.lackland.af.mil, ip address is 137.242.51.111

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:25 pm:

but i should be posting from home

By spunky on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:31 pm:

Fine, it was me. but I am not posting from that ip address, so beware before you accuse someone in the future.
You know, some isp's give blanket ip addresses, so you cannot place all your hope in that.
i am just lucky that with road runner the ip address has been the same

By trace on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:36 pm:

funny thing is, i found it easier to speak the truth under Reese then Spunky.
    Notice the spelling is correct?

By the way, I sometimes think semillama and patrick are the same people, and I know I have seen them both post from the same ip address more then once

By Trace on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 08:41 pm:

    FUKCOS

By Joe on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 12:30 am:

    incest.

By J on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 02:22 am:

Keeping it in the family..Jerry Springer #867

By semillama on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 10:11 am:

i totally assure you, patrick and I are
completely different people. In fact, I think that
there are people here who have met both of
us or at least talked to both us on the phone
and will back me up. Go to Sarah's party,
she'll tell you all about hanging out with me.

I don't know how it is possible that Patrick and
I could post from the same IP address, since
I've never been to Claifornia ever.

I didn't think that was you as reese though. I
guess I tend to take things at face value.

By Nate on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 10:57 am:

heather and i are the same person. check the IPs.

By drpy on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 11:27 am:

i liked spunky as reese. i always find the IP policing thing creepy.

By spunky on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 11:43 am:

Heather living with you now, nate?

By Nate on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 12:05 pm:

no. i am heather. i fooled you all.

By patrick on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 12:22 pm:

    jesusfuckmonkey.

trace how would sem and i share the same IP address, when, like he says, we've never met, he's never been to CA and ive never been to MI or OH?

and like droop, i find the incessant need to IP trace everyone (tiggy) a little spooky.

By eri on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 12:36 pm:

If that was more common, people probably would have thought I was Spunky for a long time, since we actually use the same IP address thingy. I don't see a point in looking it up unless someone is causing trouble here (like that S chick did). Then again, I don't believe in posting in other peoples names on here either.

By spunky on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 01:06 pm:

that was months ago, semi & patty, I do not think I could find that thread now.

By Bob Ninet on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 01:48 pm:

What a fun game, I want to play
Let's see if you know me
I've been in and out for years
    One pseudonymity

My name is not just what you think
It comes from Tom T. S.
    And there's nothing about me
    That I will not confess

    Presence always inconsistent
    I'm quiet weeks on end
But when you think I'm missing
I write but do not send

Politic threads are not for me
    I seldom argue law
What intrigues me - each of you
    Each virue, every flaw

I make my home near rocky hills
    A river runs through it
You won't find me by IP
    I've made this easy. Shit

By Antigone on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 02:19 pm:

Oh, trace, I didn't mean to accuse you. I could care less whether you post under yet another name. And my post was a question, not an accusation, you defensive pantywad! :)

And I only checked Reese's IP because he mentioned it in his initial post.

Patrick and sem aren't the same person. I've met sem and he's far too cool to act like patrick. :P

And....AND... If you dislike the IP's being available, either bitch to Mark about it or don't post. Besides, it's not as big brotherish as people make it out to be. As the spunkster says, many people can post from the same IP. If you want to be anonymous, you can post from an AOL account, or other nationwide ISP, or use an anonymous surfing service like this one.

Besides, it's a reality on the internet that you should be aware of. Every website you go to has your IP address. Otherwise, you couldn't get a web page sent to your computer in the first place.

    So quit yer bitchin'!

By patrick on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 02:21 pm:

its not a problem that they are available or that they are available its that YOU actually take the time to look them up .

it it it just reaks of distrust, insecurity and a general weiner attitude.

By droopy on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 02:35 pm:

    what patrick said.

the only i can think of for the poet is cat.

By Antigone on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:01 pm:

it it it can also wreak of curiosity, hackerosity, and a devil may care attitude about other people's silly paranoia.

And, Bob Ninet is probably not Cat. I know 'cause I checked the IP. Fnord.

By Antigone on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:04 pm:

Besides, Cat would have written a better poem than that!

By Bob Ninet on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:06 pm:

The goddess cat is far more skilled
    In lyric and in verse
I'm not she, my dearest droop
    Forgive me being terse

By patrick on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:12 pm:

checking IPs is like sneaking in your parents closet before xmas.

    Im Bob Dole.

By semillama on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:19 pm:

    I think it's Sheila.

By Antigone on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:27 pm:

But then xmas would be every day.

Of course, it is. At least it is when you're Jesus Christ, like I am.

By Spider on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 03:41 pm:

Please. Yer too tall to be Jesus.

By Who What Where When on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 06:14 pm:

    Use a Proxy.

By agatha on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 10:08 pm:

    it's nelly, i'll bet.

dave and i the same person...HA!

By spunky on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 09:35 am:

Eri and I are the same person!!

    HA HA HA
    Figure that out.
I post as Eri from my satx.rr.com ip addy
and from my lackland IP addy at the same time!!!

    HA HA HA

By trace on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 09:44 am:

I am more like Reese and less like spunky.
But I am, sadly, really Trace.

By semillama on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 10:19 am:

I am sort of like unto a llama and a lama.
    Hence the name.

    not really.

By TBone on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 10:31 am:

Hal and I are the same person, and neither of us exist.

By Nate on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 04:48 pm:

hal needs to contact me before i destroy him.

By Dougie aka Carmenita Scarfone on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 07:01 pm:

Either TBone (is TBone Tom who was Apparissus?) or Daniel SSSS or Watcher or Platypus are my guesses for Bob Ninet.

By Nate on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 11:31 pm:

    i'd guess daniel.

    AOL and a poem.

By Bob Ninet on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 03:54 pm:

    Perhaps I wasn't clear enough
    Or maybe not well-known
I've met one or two of you
    Arriving not alone

Norman Maclean knows where I'm at
And found a lot to write
Though I've never read his book
    The movie see I might

    This meter's getting tiresome
I'm sure you feel the same
    Switching gender maybe we'll
    Wrap up this stupid game

By droopy on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 04:36 pm:

i don't think anybody is willing to work this hard. if "tom t.s." means t.s. eliot - i can't think of anyone who has a name from his poetry, and i sure ain't gonna read his collected works to make sure. and if you're trying to establish that you're from montana - i think that's where hal and tbone are from. neither have poetic names and they don't seem like the rhymed quatrains types. i'm stumped.

though i do seem to remember a third. i don't remember the name.

wait, I know - j. has actually taken her name from j. alfred prufrock and she has recently run away to montana.

By Tom T-Bone Stankus - Existential Blues on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 05:15 pm:

    Yeah, OK. It's me.

    Ta-dah!

The name was really obscure, so that probably threw people off. Oops.

Problem was, I couldn't think of much other than my location that you all know about me.

I thought I had posted that last bit of poetry on Friday, but it must have gotten lost on the way.

I guess that would make Dougie the winner, though I was only one of his 4 guesses. Your prize will arrive by carrier pigeon. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.

Apparissus is my roommate, and I'm starting to suspect that either he's a delusion of mine, or I'm his.

I turned 22 over the weekend.

By patrick on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 05:24 pm:

    i think its Sheila.

By Antigone on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 05:57 pm:

    I think its patrick.

By patrick on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 06:04 pm:

are you threatening me you come-gurgling ass tool?

By Dougie on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 06:04 pm:

    Too late fuckos,
    I won fair and square.
Raise a glass to me tonight,
And I'll do the same for you, I swear.

By droopy on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 06:18 pm:

dammit. t-bone means t-bone walker to me. if youda said aaron thibeaux instead of tom t.s., i'da had it.

By spunky on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 08:04 pm:

spell cum correctly if your gonna use the word, dammit

By Nate on Monday, June 3, 2002 - 10:23 pm:

    going to.

    damnit.

    you're.

By patrick on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 - 11:50 am:

hey spunk...thats funny because you're the only one mispelling the word. you should stop reading porn so you'll know how to spell 'come'. the only people who spell 'come' as 'cum' are porn writers.

i should know this. we crank out volumes of erotica novels in this office.

'cum' is so tacky of a word.

By Antigone on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 - 01:04 pm:

cum on, you bubba butt fucking mama's girl.

By patrick on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 - 01:30 pm:

    leave bubba out of this.
