But I learned something. I finally was able to get the song out of my head by sitting down with a pen and paper and writing down the lyrics not once, not twice, but 5 times. I'm not even sure I got the lyrics right, either. That's a whole other matter, isn't it? Misunderstood song lyrics. There's that Steve Miller Band song called "Take the Money and Run," and it has the line "Swear they ran into a great big hassle." For some reason I always thought he was saying "Swear they ran into a great big asshole," and I just never questioned it or even thought about it. That was the song, as far as I knew. I see a bad moon a risin'. I see trouble on the way. I see para-quakes (?) of lightning. I see bad times today. Don't go around tonight It's bound to change your life. There's a bad moon on the rise. Hope you've got your shit together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. I see bad times today. |

my sister used to sing the copacabana, "they were younger than idecello, who could ask for more?" she insisted that idecello was the name of a football player. we also used to sing, "maneater," by hall and oates, as "mad adida." |
