Blackberry is a song i'm learning on the mandolin. It's a fast little number, and is a very fun play. It's stuck in my head. I have been listening to almost everything except Blackberry Blossom in a futile effort to rid myself of it. Perhaps writing about the song was not the best choice of removal methods. *sigh*
Pete: I don't know the song of which you speak, but I have a recording of Bette Midler singing "Blueberry Pie." It's on the "For Our Children" Pediatric AIDS benefit album that came out in the late 80s. The sequel ("For Our Children TOO") just came out last year I think. I have both. You ain't heard nothin' til you've heard Bob Dylan sing:
This old man, he played three, he played knick knack on my knee...

Red Clay Halo, thanks to Gillian Welch. Saw her the other night in Buffalo, just amazing. Black berry is an awesome song, so much fun to play. We start with the Michelle Shocked version (slow to half-time) with words) then come in hard, double time for the original version. Definitely one of my favorites! M.
