metamorphosis

i've been melancholy lately. it's not that this is particularly sad or depressing. it's just lovely in the way things are lovely because they end. so she said to me "things can't stay the same forever" and she was right. they're better now. so i think to myself maybe i'll go to the cd shop and buy it and so far i haven't because it wouldn't be mono or slightly hissy or coming from so far away. a thing can stick in your head in a particular way and if you hear it in another way all the associations are sullied. not just the what but the how. a thousand tunes like this. i clicked the link first one dull afternoon in my wee study, alone in my flat, at a loss with the world in general, but not unhappy. and this is how things are today.
