I don't know why, I haven't heard it on the radio for a while as I've just returned from the heartland (Gore), where the local radio has lots of farming and weather reports and a _really_ sad (bad) country music show late in the evening.

BTW, Gore is next to Clinton (both small towns in Southland, NZ). They were going to name the road that joins them the Presidential Highway. But when the new lamb tarriffs were announced, they changed their minds. (sheepfarming is big business down there). It is also about the only place in NZ with a recognisable regional accent (they roll the RRRs, so Gore is pronounced Gorrrrre, not Gaw. I practised for a whole week before I got down there, but I still missed some rrrs. The barmaid at the hotel I stayed at is going on holiday to Srrrrrfrrrrs in a few weeks (Translation: that would be Surfers (Paradise) in Australia).

Anyway, nice town, cheap movie theatre, just about everywhere serves espresso, but i don't drink coffee, so i don't really care. Also, they have angle parking on the main street, a KFC, and about 5 roundabouts, but no traffic lights. Local kids have nothing much by way of entertainment, so they get drunk, drive around in illegally modified cars, and kill innocent pedestrians.

can i get a job there?

By Rhiannon on Friday, August 20, 1999 - 09:22 am:

Roundabouts: ugh. A few years ago, i went to
England with my mother and her best friend (who's
mentally incompetent) and friend was driving, and
she nearly got us killed every time we approached
one of those things because -- even after 3 weeks
-- she never learned that people already in the
roundabout have the right of way.

Then she claims to be insulted by my pleading with
God not to let us die every time I got in the car.
Please. You know that's the only reason we're
    still alive. idiot.

But what has any of this to do with "Violent"?

I love that song NZ Angel. My ex boyfriend used to go to the Palladium and listen to Boh before she made it big.
