Whew! The disc does work, just not in my portable disc player.

What a great album. It rocks as hard as anything I've heard. This year has been a pretty good one for me as far as new albums go.

I really like this band - sort of like They Might Be Giants meets DEVO meets Rosie the Riveter. I highly recommend this to everyone.

    Thanks, Mavis!

By pez on Wednesday, October 18, 2000 - 10:25 pm:

who put the the bop in the bop shoo bop shoo bop
who put the ram in the ramma lamma ding dong
who put the dip in the dip dip dip dip dip

    who was that man
i want to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

...i think that's how it goes...

By Tired on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 03:48 pm:

    ack

you just got it stuck in my head even worse than it was yesterday

I had track 3 off kid a stuck in my head all morning. it made me manic. I ended up writing stuff double the size at which I normally write, and really pressing the pen into the paper. I dunno, it doesn't really sound all that impressively manic, but I assure you, I was manic.

By droopy on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 04:11 pm:

i seem to remember it as bomp shoo-bomp shoo-bomp and dip de-dip de-dip.

    but i may be erroneous.

    but i'm positive it was

    patrick

    who put the

    ram

in the ramma lamma ding dong.

    ouch.

By semillama on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 04:35 pm:

I kind of thought it was who TOOK the whatever from the whatever.

Mavis will know, I'll ask here the next time I talk to her.

By Nate on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 04:48 pm:

you're just fucking wrong sem. think about the next lines. about shaking the man's hand and all that.

you don't get women without the ramma lamma.

By droopy on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 04:51 pm:

instead of doing something useful with my life i went on a word search for "deceptacon."

    it's "took."

but i still believe i'm right about that patrick thing.

By Cat on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 05:22 pm:

I beg to differ my learned colleague. Given Patrick's recent disclosure's about his method of birth control..I reckon he's the one that took the dip out of the dip-de-dip.

    Boom-de-de-boom.

By J on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 05:27 pm:

By patrick on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 05:46 pm:

By Antigone on Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 08:04 pm:

Uninteresting is good. I'll probably be working 60-70 hour weeks and spending the rest of the time in front of my computer working on personal projects. But I'd occasionally like to creep out of the coccoon...

I met a woman from the deep, deep south today. I surprised myself while selling her stamps with talking her accent, and how cool it was. I thought she was going to haul off and belt me, but it was all cool. She's neat, I like her a lot. I hope she comes in again soon. She's cute. Has a puffin tatooed on her ankle.

By pez on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 03:20 am:

    puffins are neat looking.

By Cat on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 04:47 am:

I am from the deep, deep, deep, deep South. About as deep as you can go.

(That sounds like something from a cheap porn movie)

I don't have any puffins, but I do make muffins.

By semillama on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 08:55 am:

While in Birmingham, why not visit the Sloss Furnace National Historic Monument? My buddy Bode is the curator there. I haven't been yet, but from the photos, it's pretty impressive. There's a museum and tours and local metalwork artists go there to do casting. I'll get a link up soon.

By semillama on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 08:58 am:

Here ya go, a photo for Antigone and something for Nate at the same time: sloss boognish

I would just like to say that Vulcan is a Roman god. Hephaistos is his Greek counterpart.
