Silence

That Sarah McLaughlin/Delirium song. Has anybody bought the Delirium cd? (I don't know the title.) If so, is it any good? I just downloaded the song from Napster, but there's not much else out there besides this song from that group. Do they do a lot of setting chant to rock, as in the beginning of Silence? I really like Sarah McLaughlin, but one thing I don't like is when her voice breaks, almost like a yodel (I can't stand that girl from the Cranberries who yodels) -- my only complaint about Sarah. That and the fact that she's not laying in my bed naked right now.

On the new Solas album, they close with "I will remember You", which Seamus Egan (the group's founder) wrote the music to. It sounds way better than Ms. McLaughlin's version (no offense).

None taken. I'll check them out.

A good one to check out too is the soundtrack for the Brothers McMullen, which has the McL. song, but more importantly eatures Seamus Egan and members of Solas before they got together a s a group. It's my favorite soundtrack, and I haven't even seen the movie.

Solas has a new singer. I need to go track down what happend to Karen Casey, the old singer, because she has the voice of an angel and I want to hear more from her. The new singer's no slouch, but Casey is the best I've heard in a long time.

There is a lot listed on audiogalaxy.com. I don't know anything about what you're looking for, though.

I think audiogalaxy is far superior to napster. especially when dealing with difficult to find music.

Cool, I love this stuff. Just downloaded a couple of Solas tunes from Napster (yeah, I realize you're stuck with what people have ripped and shared on Napster, but the sound clips that amazon.com et al share are pathetic, and at least with Napster you can get the full tune and it sounds decent -- I'll definitely check out audiogalaxy.com.) I also like Cappercaille (sp?) and Clannadh etc.

I also found out that the group name I mentioned above is spelled "Delerium" and that they do a kind of world pop kind of thingy. All the customer reviews for the Karma album on amazon.com seem to be raves, so I'll pick that up too. Got nothing to lose except my $15.

Dougie, check out Maire Brennan's album too. She's Clannad's lead singer.

There's an Australian performer you'd probably like too...if you can get your hands on her stuff...Casey Chambers.

Yeah, I've got her album, "Maire." Very nice -- haven't listened to it for a couple of years. Thanks for the tip on Casey Chambers. I'll check her out.
