One of the best albums I've heard all year, right up there with Tool. If you like old-school early eighties punk/goth, get this. It has teh old sound but does not sound dated at all. Plus, Patricia Morrison of Sisters of Mercy plays on it and she's such a babe (and a killer bassist). |
I heard New Order came out with a new album. I suspect the Cure will pop one out anytime now. Maybe a Love & Rockets reunion? A Minor Threat reunion? No...Ian is too pretensious for that. |
Neither can I. On another note, my friend Steve the Gothic Archaeologist emailed me this morn and told me that the new Laurie Anderson disc is the best album he's heard all year, hands down, which means I'm going ot have to go and check it out, even though I just blew the rest of my leftover per diem money from the last project on discs, getting the aforementioned Damned plus Butthole Surfers-Rembrandt Pussyhorse, The Clash's first, Social D's first, Devo hardcore vol. 2, Tom Waits-big time, Sex Pistols (my tape wore out), Failure's Fantastic Planet, Varttina's Oi Dai (crazy Finnish music), The Jolly Boys. I'm so bad. |
Kendra Smith was in the Dream Syndicate, Opal, Guild of Temperal Adventurers (very very very rare) but her solo work is readily available. I highly encourage you to check her out, seeif there are some tunes online you can see first. i think you'd dig her. |
