By Lapis on Monday, January 6, 2003 - 01:06 pm:

So some of my friends and I made this movie, and Dr. Octagon's on the soundtrack. I've never listened to him before but what can I say? Wow.

"Earth people, New York and California,
Earth people, I was born on Jupiter..."

By patrick on Monday, January 6, 2003 - 01:36 pm:

definitely influenced by Last Poets and Sun Ra. check em if you dig Octagon.

the boy's ex room mate stole his Dr.Octagon cds when she moved out, on top of owing him over $200 in phone bills.
I think he was more upset about the cd.
    That's good shit.

in a pointless end note, last year a $1,500 rebate on her student loan came in the mail and we ripped it up and threw it out.

This is my current list of music to find:
    Dr. Octagon
    Meg Lee Chin
    Black Heart Procession
    Teddybears STHLM
    ...
    Amoung others.

I went music shopping New Years Day and got The Kills, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the new Kittie EP. Not much to say for the first two, but Kittie is excellent, au. The spooky classicalish "Safe" is fantabulous.

If you want a copy, email me.

I want to start a mixtape cover band. Or a karaoke band now.

By dave. on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 - 08:54 pm:

i love battle flag. pigeonhed is the shit.

i'm pretty much indifferent about the rest of the stuff, except for a strong urge to break things upon reading "How Soon is Now? - The Smiths and Billie Jean - Michael Jackson".

By Ophelia on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 - 12:11 am:

how exactly would a mixtape cover band work? would you cover a mix of artists? would you create mix tapes of covered songs? i'm intrigued.

By Lapis on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 - 04:09 am:

No, you'd cover a lot of different songs, by request. If the band doesn't know the song, the requestor has to come up and sing.
