the cute comment referred to the advantage.

    spider is also excessively cute.

By Spider on Saturday, March 13, 2004 - 10:29 am:

I'll try to tone it down a bit.

The Bubbleman theme is the best in Megaman 2. That was an excellent choice.

By Spider on Saturday, March 13, 2004 - 10:29 am:

Did you find the Pixies cover? I'm telling you, it's good.

By Rowlfe on Saturday, March 13, 2004 - 06:18 pm:

my favorite Advantage track is the Ducktales cover.

Wispy used to keep an NES emulator on this one and oh the many times I tried to play that crappy DuckTales game only to give up because it was so stupid

By Spider on Saturday, March 13, 2004 - 08:05 pm:

Did I tell you guys I have (gotten through my brother) a CD for my Dreamcast that has almost every old school Atari and Nintendo game on it? All the Megaman games, Maniac Mansion, the 3 Castlevanias, all the Mario Bros. incarnations, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Q-Bert, Tetris...maybe a couple hundred more. (It's a huge-assed list, anyway.)

The games don't hold up through the years, unsurprisingly. Still, it's interesting to go through them and reminisce.

By Rowlfe on Sunday, March 14, 2004 - 01:30 am:

    yes, that song's good too....

Spider, I think you'd like this one.

By Rowlfe on Sunday, April 4, 2004 - 11:26 pm:

    Blonde Redhead,
hear a song from this site:
    http://www.4ad.com/frameset.html

Their album "Misery is a butterfly" might end up being my album of the year. They're playing Toronto on Tuesday with the Unicorns and I might go..

and the lead singers name is Kazu!

By kazu on Thursday, April 15, 2004 - 02:39 pm:

Since I am way close to finishing my incompletes from last year, I am going to treat myself to some music so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. I'm thinking about Misery is a Butterfly but others too.

"and the lead singers name is Kazu!"

And I should also mention that the first name of one of the pace twins is 2/3 of my real last name.

I'm also going to see Four Tet next week with something called, "Sunburned Hand of the Man."

Does anyone know what that is?

By semillama on Thursday, April 15, 2004 - 04:44 pm:

By beta on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 05:26 pm:

though i get the distinct feeling that its not remembered too fondly by the handfull of sorbjiites who have had the pleasure of living there, but there is a new album by sufjan stevens which consists entirely of songs inspired by, and written for, the state of michigan...

"for the widows in paradise, for the fatherless in ipsilanti" is my personal favorite for now, but the entire album is light and breezy and good for a long drive on a summer's day

    say yes! to michgan

By Spider on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 05:45 pm:

I listened to most of the Sunburned Hand of the Man album, and I don't like it. It's trippy and boring, IMO.

Four Tet is playing in Philly on Monday...maybe I'll get to go...

I saw 16 Horsepower live last Friday -- FANTASTIC show. Seriously, if they play near you, make the time to go see them.

By semillama on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 06:17 pm:

I don't know about that Sufjan Stevens album - I haven't listened to it but the review was posted and I read it and came away with the impression that it's just another troll with zero knowledge of anything above the bridge.

and what gives the impression that the Michigan natives have bad memories?

By TBone on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 06:18 pm:

    Sufjan Stevens is good.
I liked what I heard of Say Yes to Michigan, which wasn't much.
I've hear more of Seven Swans, which I like.

By TBone on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 06:19 pm:

Oh, and doesn't he plan on doing all 50 states?

By dave. on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 06:35 pm:

it's a good album. i posted about it a couple months ago to semmy and skooty.

it doesn't rock, but it's good.

i think he is planning all 50.

By beta on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 09:19 pm:

    he is planning all 50

its not (imo) as consistently good as seven swans, but its fun, and more often than not, damn pretty

i imagine sem is right, sufjan is from detriot, or maybe flint, (but uh, i dont think the album is supposed to be *about* michigan necessarily, i think he said that he wrote it *for* michigan)

and-i really dont know why i had the impression about sorabjites and michigan, it was just a vague feeling

Rowlfe, I got the blond readhead CD and managed to listen to about half of it before phone calls to mommy and taped Dave Chappelle episodes got in the way. So far, I like it, it seems like good journal writing music...I'll say more once I've listened a few times and let it sink in.

By Dante on Thursday, May 6, 2004 - 10:32 am:

4 Spider ... man u`r gr8! 10x for that link to the song from the end of episode 16 in Smallville. But too bad the link is not valid. Please give us some other URL to get that song, or fix that link. Thank U ;)

By Agatha on Thursday, May 6, 2004 - 11:17 am:

    Or, not.

By semillama on Thursday, May 6, 2004 - 02:04 pm:

Perhaps if you said that again in english, there, maybe she'd comply.

By Dante on Saturday, May 8, 2004 - 02:07 pm:

Sorry about my english, no practice - no skills. On the other hand, I didn`t know "Spider" is a she, sorry 4 that too.
Anyway, I like that song a lot and I`d realy appreciate if she`ll fix that link.

By Spider on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 12:57 pm:

Watch the video for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps" here.

I think it's awesome that, instead of pouting and trying to look sexy like 99/100 female singers in their videos, Karen O cries.

By Spider on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 12:58 pm:

That Smallville clip I linked to....it's not my site. Sorry, I can't fix it. Go buy Roberto Alagna's recording of French arias.

By patrick on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 03:13 pm:

i so want karen O's bathwater.

By wisper on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 06:06 pm:

"I think it's awesome that, instead of pouting and trying to look sexy like 99/100 female singers in their videos, Karen O cries."

that's because she's an actual artist, and not some empty twat pumped out of the pop machine.
    woo hoo!

Is it done with love or malice? Because if it's the latter, aww, don't make fun of my boys like that.

The beauty of empty twat is that it can be filled.

    hhmmMMMMMMmmmmm.

By Spider on Thursday, June 10, 2004 - 08:48 pm:

Is that a good hhmmMMMMMMmmmmm or bad hhmmMMMMMMmmmmm?

By wisper on Thursday, June 10, 2004 - 11:32 pm:

a "that makes me think" hmmmmm.

By moonit on Friday, June 11, 2004 - 01:19 am:

Things that make you go hmmmmmm?

By wisper on Friday, June 11, 2004 - 07:00 pm:

    awww, shut up.

By Rowlfe on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 08:47 pm:

The Prodigy "Girls" - gonna have to look for it on Soulseek, ladies and germs

yep, after all this time, a new album is finally coming out.

Doesnt sound like a Prodigy song, its almost like a regular dance song with a few Prodigy-esque elements to it. Yet I like it. Find it and judge for yo'self.

By moonit on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 02:37 am:

That guy from Prodigy (the white one who sings), looks a little like my Pandyr. Especially in old photos, and when the Pandyr had long hair.

That slowed down version of the Chipmunks song made me sad.

By Rowlfe on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 - 01:07 pm:

By Gee on Thursday, February 24, 2005 - 10:02 am:

now I am reminded of the slowed down Chipmunks song and I am sad all over again.

By TBone on Thursday, February 24, 2005 - 07:20 pm:

The Chipmunks song has a tendency to run on a loop through my mind sometimes. In my head it's the slow version but with chipmunk voices.
