    Dude!

    1. Oliphants!!
    2. Witch King!!!
    3. Black. Gate. Opens. !!!!

They even managed to include my favorite line in only partially mangled form -- "No taste of food, no feel of water, no sound of wind, no memory of tree or grass or flower, no image of moon or star are left to me. I am naked in the dark, Sam, and there is no veil between me and the wheel of fire. I begin to see it even with my waking eyes, and all else fades."

All in all, ROTK = rocked.

But, a general complaint: why in the name of all that is holy did Peter Jackson inject so much sentimentality into an already sentimental story? Do we REALLY need to see a shot of a mother tearfully clutching her baby before every freaking battle in the trilogy? We. Get. It. Already.

Other than that, it was cool. I will see it again.

(Oh, and don't I ever catch a break? I saw it by myself to avoid sitting next to an annoying couple I know...and I ended up sitting next to an annoying couple I didn't know.)

One more thing: I have never been fond of Elijah Wood as an actor, but I thought he did a good job with the final scenes. For once he cut the "big eyes melting with anguish" schtick and showed some welcome restraint.
