I consider this a viable threat for the following reasons: 1) Lucy has posted that she posses a gun. 2) Lucy has posted that she wants to learn how to use said gun. 3) Lucy has posted that she is willing to use the gun. 4) Lucy has posted that she is so angry at a particular group of people, the same group she associates me with, that she has lost sleep. 5) My personal information, including name, home address, and telephone number, are easily accessible by methods I have posted on these boards. Lucy has access to these methods. 6) In a post directed at a group of people on these boards, the same group she associates me with, Lucy posted that "ALL OF YOU PATHETIC PSEUDOLIBERAL BULLSHIT HERD ANIMALS SHOULD BE SHOT BEFORE YOU BREED" So, Lucy has means, (her gun and ability to find my personal information) motive, (anger at my posts) and expressed interest (the post mentioned in 6 above) to cause me physical harm. I consider that a serious threat. I will post URL's to specific posts which back up these points later, when I have the time. (Probably around tuesday.) I'm going on vacation until then. Antigone has posted personal information about me for all to see, as well as theatening me with harassment at work. This is no longer a rhetorical issue at all. This is a DIRECT, REAL-WORLD INJURY. Maliciously compromising someone's privacy is a hostile act and a CRIME. This is no longer a flamewar. The behavior of your beloved whiteboys has gone a step further. Antigone's behavior is not only inappropriate and unethical, it is CRIMINAL. Antigone has committed what amounts to an act of violence against me. I will return with 3 concrete examples of persons whom I can realistically expect to make violent use of the information so thoughtfully provided by that PSYCHOPATH. Lucy, my tongue in cheek advice to Lather was made because I have witnessed your slide from rational thought to, "I'll get my way one way or another." Don't flatter yourself into thinking that I wait until the "community" will tolerate it. I post what I feel like whenever I feel like. If you don't believe me then check out yesterdays post by me....it was met with disapproval SO WHAT! I still say that Lather needs to check the various personalty disorders and decide, #1 do any of these fit Lucy #2 would she willingly see a psychiatrist #3 do I love her enough to go through the emotional and financial devestation that these disorders bring on? If he answers yes to these then he needs to examine himself, #1 am I co-dependent #2 is my esteem low so I feel I will just accept these negative behaviors rather than try to find someone else who will love me? #3 am I being emotionally abused in this relationship? will it escalate to physical violence? This is no joke. I maintained a 10 year relationship with a person who suffers Boarderline Personality Disorder. I have been through bankruptcy, totaled vehicles, children crying at night because no one knows where their mommy is. It escalated to physical violence from her against me. Finally I had her arrested. It hasn't been fun and now she is in counselling and on medications and is quite wonderful, apologizes, want's the marriage good again and states that she loves me more than ever. The problem is it went too far and I just can't make myself feel that way again. Anyway the reason I bring this up to Lather is because I see traits in you (Lucy) that suggest serious problems. Well, after my plane was delayed I had a chance to read over the thread more carefully. Lucy was partially right about my angry, "bone breaking" post. The language, while not directed at her, could easily be construed as threatening. I was wrong to post it, especially given Lucy's state of mind and sensativities. Anyway, I don't have the resources or time to make the final post I want to about this subject (damn airport terminal!) but I will in a few hours. Actually, I had no idea you were posting from work, Lucy. I thought you might be a student. I have no intension of informing the administrators of the machine from which you post most of the time of your activities. I probably don't have to. Did you know that it's possible to trace everything you do on the web from the computer you post from? In fact, they can even track the contents of the text you input into text windows and submit to forms. So, if the administrators at your work are worth anything (and I'm pretty sure they are) then they'll find out eventually without any help from me. Besides, it sounds like you've got enough problems without me adding to the mix.
