    so dig it, im geeking out.....anticipating the shuttle to land here in socal, i coordinated my lunch hour to take a walk up to the hills, a little quieter than hollywood blvd...so im bummed, my time is almost up, and just as I am about to go inside after finishing my smoke.....

    boom BOOM!!!!

    GASP!

    it was the strangest sensation, the windows vibrated, my insides jolted and i could almost feel a breeze...

    how fucking cool is that....

    so, one day, i can tell my grandkids, if i have any, i felt the sonic boom of the 100th mission returning home..

    geek?

    you bet!

    do i care?

    hell no

    this is cool stuff

    Sonic booms are so cool, aren't they? Fucking awesome. Where we stayed in Ireland, Concorde flew right overhead...omigod. Surreal. Cool. I love them to bits. I envy you.

    On a US Navy destroyer: While doing testing of our new radar system, an F-16 travelling at over 900 miles per hour flew 50 feet above the decks. I wanted a close look so I went outside to see it. I saw it coming, it passed directly overhead and off to the horizon. There was complete silence for about 2 seconds. When it was out of site, I heard it pass over me. Cool...
