After consulting our handy-dandy road atlas, and letting Yahoo do the math for mileage, I find that Portland is a mere 3 hrs south of Seattle and it would only add an additional hour to my return trip. What's 1 hour extra when I'm driving 14-15 anyway? So, you wanna do lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 5? |
Come over come over!!! email me...... lulibird@teleport.com |
|
party at my house!! when are you coming, tbone? |
I just tried again. |
I'm horrible at planning things, so we'll see what happens. |
|
TBone, TBone's S/O and Apparissus will leave early Friday. We will take the more direct way to Seattle and have a generally awsome time there. On the drive back, (Monday) we will drop through Portland and meet Mavis. How's that sound? |
this monday? yeah! |
|
Hope you like wild ass ladies, Mavis' place is Wild Ass Lady Central! |

I'll be returning from Seattle on Tuesday - if you wanna do lunch or sumptin, lemme know. I can check my email when I get to Seattle. |
wow. welcome to wild ass lady central! |
You too, Agatha. We're flyin' by the seat of our collective pants. Bumbershoot, baby. |
(Just another Mavis Monday.. ooeoo...) Our lack of planning created some interesting situations. I got advance tickets 5 minutes before they stopped selling them, and we realized that all the cheap places were full, so I'm glad I have an Aunt there. It's supposed to rain here all weekend. Woohoo! More info will be presented as it becomes available. |
|
my reed email is sucking, please email me at lulibird@teleport.com if you update yr travel plans.... |
Mavis! How's Monday morningish time sound for you? We wanna get out of there before noon, as we underestimated how hosed we'd feel after the drive, and our classes start Tuesday. Oh, and Apparissus cancelled at, literally, the last minute. He's going to miss out on you wild-ass ladies. |

URL: chillarege.com/cusine/saagpaneer.html So Mavis, where'd you learn to cook like that??? |
i just like to read a lot and a few years ago i started reading cookbooks and trying stuff out. i love food and when i eat something fantastic in a restaurant, i try to copy it (and make it vegan). it usually works okay. i also believe in the power certain dishes have to seduce. that's awes |
it's fun to read a cookbook as a novel. i love it. the energy bar across the street from the central library (portland) has a vegan stew to die for. served with pita bread for $3.50, as i remember. food is emotional. my dad got me started on the path of vegetarianism when i was twelve. i had two pet rabbits and he butchered them and tried to feed me rabbit stew. i wonder why i'm afraid of my dad? maybe that's it. |
|
Well anyway, may be movin my ass outa my home, and into a new one... You know seperation of parents type thing... You know my mom's taking it extreamly well, more so than I would have though... Guess she figured it was coming or something? |
it has a big lightning bolt in the window. the specialty is veggie smoothies and sandwiches (mostly non-veggie). i've only been there a couple of times, on saturdays, and had vegan stew and an italian soda. there's a table of free local newpapers and pamphlets next to the door, and someone usually leaves an oregonian on one of the othe tables. it's a good place to sit and eat and people watch. |
