i am almost ready to quit my temp job and work here permanently (actually, i have to temp five more days to qualify) and this lady i've never seen before just walked into my office five minutes ago and handed me a plaque and a 50 dollar check and my co-workers everheard and all came into the hall yelling and cheering and clapping!!! it is the funniest thing ever! especially given how much i am NOT temp of the month material---i do stellar work, love my job, but come on....it's Reed College! i could be here naked and high and they would still love me! plus i asked her why i was picked and she sadi because i rarely call in sick and because Betsy my boss loves me and says so wheneer the temp police call to check up on me!! i'm glad they didn't come last week when i skipped on my birthday to go to the nude beach and didn't call in!!! anyway, i had to tell someone..... |

i took some of my best temp prize money and threw a little tea party at my house last night. heee! how funny! the whole thing cracks me up! to get their silly award when i secretly do not play by THE RULES. yeah,sem, i actually started writing it all down already! i've been keeping a journal of my three years off and on temping and i am either going to send it to jeff of temp slave when i'm done or just do a zine about it myself. i certainly have enough material to write one or two books about it. sad but true. |
