    Its a miserable day today.

    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030317/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_palestinians_551

on top of the committment to unjust war, Sharon's bulldozers kill an American activist.

About 20 minutes, i walked to return a lense i had rented for a photoshoot, its about a 30 minute roundtrip walk. I realized half way i forgot my cell. I just knew, it would be my luck her water breaks and I dont have my cell and it would delay my getting to her by a 1/2 hour or more.

I then realized what a blessing that would be.

Its a very very very sad day and only one thing could change that.

well....that and if we bombed college basketball.

yes. someone please, shoot the Ole Yeller that is college basketball.

Well, if you'd told me sooner, I could have nuked the American Airlines Arena. I live within walking distance.

But, you just DROPPED THE BALL!

    I couldn't resist. :P

By patrick on Monday, March 17, 2003 - 02:04 pm:

further....you can most likely expect a stanley cup parade within walking distance sometime in june.

im pretty sure they're gonna win it.

You should just hear the spin the conservative talk show hosts are putting on that girl's life. It's enough to make you sick.

I didn't know her, but she sounded like a kind person from what I've heard.

By patrick on Monday, March 17, 2003 - 03:43 pm:

for some reason, that story is having much more of an emotional impact on me.

its like she epitomizes the state of things, a metaphor for the world.

i feel like we are being bulldozed.

I feel like we're in the middle of a giant snowball hurtling down a mountainside heading for a mining town.

My alarm clock/radio is set to NPR, and one morning last week I awoke to the sounds of someone detailing his idea of the worst-case scenario of the coming war. I was half-asleep, but the highlight of it was that Israel would be attacked in step 3 or 4, and then hell on earth would officially commence. Shiny.

    Anyone see this? http://www.newamericancentury.org/iraqclintonletter.htm

By Antigone on Monday, March 17, 2003 - 04:38 pm:

The guys who signed that letter all have class A bulldozer licenses, ya know.

i stumbled upon closeup photos of the girl who was run over on whatreallyhappened.com - they are gruesome, but if you absolutely have to look, they're there.

The girl was a former student of Cleo's teacher, and came to Cleo's class about a month ago to talk about the conflict. All of the kids wrote letters to Palestinian children, which the girl brought to the village she was travelling to, and the kids have been communicating back and forth ever since then.
Cleo was very upset when she got home today. She went to our neighbors' house to borrow the paper, and read every related article in there.

War is great for children, isn't it, Trace?

Our daughters have beeen watching the news channels on television and Hayley has learned a little in school (though very little). Mikayla, of course, doesn't understand it, but Hayley does. She shocked me yesterday. She just looked at me and said that Saddam was an evil man and he should die. I asked her why she said that, since I was absolutely stunned by her vehemence. She said that he should have done to him all of the horrible things that he has done to the Iraqi people. She and I then sat down and had a long talk about how that isn't possible and how it isn't up to us to decide who lives or dies, though I do agree that he is evil and needs to be punished.

children carry the opinions of their parents.she probably heard it from trace.

dont let her watch the news tv eri. thats bad and full of frightful misinformation.

    its too much, sensory overload.

By eri on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 - 11:46 am:

She only watches about 10 minutes a day and reads for like 3 hours a day, so she doesn't get much tv time. We discuss misinformation in the news all of the time.
