We decided not to live in Montgomery Proper, but rather a nice little town called Prattville.

One of the positives that is coming out of this move is NO MORE APARTMENT!

I signed the lease on this house. It is a four bed room, so we will have an office/guest room!

Prattville is really a very pretty town. It kind of looks like someone built a town inside a forest. So many trees! I will post some more pictures of the area when I can.

Don't forget the window boxes on the bedroom windows so I can grow my *ahem* herbs.....

hey dammit, eri can attest to this, I went through HELL finding a house

With ghost faces in the pictures and all....finding that house was a royal pain for you, though. Most of the other houses were just plain scary.

It looks like a nice little town and that's a nice yard for the girls to play in,you can take them to that nut grove, and picnic at Cooter's Pond, and then go fill up some jugs of the artesian well water, sounds like a nice little town to me,I'm happy for you:)

By spunky on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 - 12:44 pm:

Thanks J. I think it is an awesome little town

By semillama on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 11:35 am:

nothing like a nice small American town in my book. Cities are great, but small towns are where it's at in my book. It's got an interesting history too (at least to me, as an Industrial Archaeologist). You should take the fam up to B'ham and visit the Sloss Furnace museum if you get the chance, it's supposed to be one of the best industrial museums in the country (I know the old director). It's on my lists of places I need to visit.

    Well, life is funny.
    We are not transferring.
I have had an "interim" clearance since I started working for Booz Allen back in February 2001.
Defense Security Services has finaly decided to deny me a secret clearance due to some unpaid bills 5 years ago.
So, we are staying in San Antonio, and I have two interviews set up waiting for me when I get home......

What a waste though. It costs ten thousand dollars to do a clearence check, and they spend tons of money training me, I know the system backwards and forwards and am the last person that would even consider selling secrets so I can pay off old debts.

They really need to learn that you cannot treat people like this, and if you continue to treat people like me as security threats, you will be creating more then you are detecting.

spunk, how can you say such treasonous things?

By J on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 01:08 pm:

Well I bet Eri's happy your staying.

By semillama on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 01:27 pm:

well, good luck. The Defense Security Services are pretty picky though. I was interviewed by one of their agents as part of a background check for my best friend's security clearence.
So you missed a couple bill payments and that's that? or were they unpaid altogether? Because I really have a hard time imagining that they will have a wide field of applicants to chose from if the former is one of their criteria for who keeps a job.

Which they'll end up outsourcing to India, you wait and see.

By spunky on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 03:55 pm:

    Unpaid.

I was told they don't really care about the field of canidates. If they have to turn down 100%, then so be it.

    So I've been told.

By spunky on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 06:06 pm:

I want to move to the north side of San Antonio, like in Shertz or something like that. Nasty commute, but I really hate living the heart of San Antonio. I prefer the small towns over metro areas myself. All I want is cable internet and a gas station within 5 miles.

Maybe you should consider paying those bills off.

They could hurt you in otherways too.
