    given to me by my housemate Stephen... so far i'm only through page 33, but i like it. a male backpacker in bangkok, a young french couple, a mute heroine addict, and a older Scottish man who commits suicide. at least it's different.

    No, but I've read a mini interview with Alex Garland about it. He says he did not consciously leave the women without tampons. Just so you know.

    Didn't Judy Blume write "Blubber"? I thought that book was so freaking depressing. The fat girl didn't even get to end up happy. What kind of YA novel was that?!?
