I saw this last night. I was fighting to keep my eyes open. It's too long, and an overall flat tire. Silent Bob and J keep it going with sporadic funny thigns to say, and even Bob talks twice.....Chris rock is alittle cheesy and just not funny, and I usually think he is a riot......Rhi, i suggest you see this, i would love to know what you think.

it does have some intersting play on the catholic church and theology in general, but my lack of knowledge regarding those topics prevented me from getting the full effect......it's worth a video rental but not a $4 matinee, DEFINTELY not an $8 prime time viewing

i think he may be disapointed. Kevin smith films have declined in quality since Mallrats

i had no idea Dogma was a Kevin Smith film. that changes everything.

i mean, i didn't see it, but now when i do i'll expect something totally different.

I saw it last night, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I regard it as similar to clerks on it's commentary on the human condition. Damn and Affleck were good. I was derading Alanis Morrissette as God, but you know what, it worked for me. Really. (for the record, Morrissette gets on my nerves as much as Bon Jovi)

My favorite part was when it was mentioned that the fallen angels were sent to a place worse than hell - Wisconsin. I couldn't laugh at that as hard as iwanted to, since I was surrounded by cheeseheads, who chuckled nervously through out the whole movie.

Smith's movies have always been flawed, but in an honest way. I think Smith may be the most honest filmmaker alive today. I recommend it.
