Call me with a computer, put me on hold, then tell me that YOU are busy and will have to call back?

That's what Caller ID is for. Couldn't live without it. ID screen----> UNAVAILABLE This pits my answering machine against their fucking computer-driven calls......I win.

W/an asnwering machine/you don't even NEED to spend the extra $$ every month for Caller I.D. Every fucking day when I come home/there is at least 1 computer-generated hang-up on my machine. Either that/or some poor telemarketer has figured out that my # is never answered during biz hrs./& they're calling my house just for the respite of hearing 4 rings & a msg. before the next computer-generated auto-dial # comes up on their screen. Isn't tecnhology wonderful?

I agree that having both machine and Caller ID is a bit redundant. I'm not the type of person to let the machine pick up the call just to screen my calls. My girlfriend does that most of the time and I find it VERY irritating. Hence, the Caller ID is my screening of choice. R.C.-- I been away for a loooong time.
