By Nate on Friday, November 6, 2009 - 12:47 am:

    this gave me the chills.

what a way to enter the world.

By Dr Pepper on Friday, November 6, 2009 - 02:05 am:

I needs to know if, a mother deliver a birth at home are at risk than the hospital? i am just curious.

By Nate on Friday, November 6, 2009 - 11:19 am:

    it's a huge mystery.

By semillama on Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 12:27 am:

I gotta say, Nate always knows how to make an entrance.

By kazu on Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 12:32 am:

Homebirth is safe for women whose pregnancy is low risk and when attended by a qualified midwife. I was going to birth at home until I tested positive for GBS and had to get antibiotics. In many places, that wouldn't have been enough to risk me out but it was my call and I decided to go to the hospital.

My homebirth midwife was my doula.

    Unassisted birthing is crazycakes.

By Dr Pepper on Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 02:04 am:

    GBS?

By Nate on Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 12:03 pm:

GBS? i thought only dudes could get giant balls syndrome.

given all the creepy, antibiotic resistant shit you can catch by being in a hospital, i would think it would be better to avoid hospitals unless absolutely necessary.

the end of that video, when the dad is asking if the screaming baby is breathing yet, and the mom is squeezing the sack and implying that he might still be getting his life-needs through the umbilical cord, is evidence for the unassisted birthing is crazycakes argument.

i bet those freaks don't vaccinate, too.

By Dr Pepper on Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 01:03 pm:

nate, i think kazu tried to say that GBS may be for what we called "Guillain-Barré Syndrome".

By patrick on Monday, November 9, 2009 - 04:12 pm:

we looked at the only free standing midwife birth facility in the
    state.

we werent terribly comfortable with it. while she likes the idea of
doing the birth without pain meds, if during the birth she decides
she needs them, then we would have to get in a car and drive up
the street to UNC chapel hill. kinda dumb and not fun. we found a
good mid wife program at the hospital itself. because of her age
    she is considered high risk

By semillama on Monday, November 9, 2009 - 04:21 pm:

GBS= Group B Strep. Pretty common stuff, but can be passed onto the baby during delivery.

By Dr Pepper on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 - 02:02 am:

semillama, thanks for sharing info.. :-)

By Nate on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 - 12:04 am:

looks like we were both wrong, pepper.

By Dr Pepper on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 - 02:35 am:

Nate, it is something that's new, it is very important that we learn many new words and abbrievations..:-) and it is very important that baby to be delivered healthy...

By J on Sunday, November 15, 2009 - 03:16 am:

    Lucy, Lucy Phurre,how are you?
We have missed you, where you going to? Where have you been? Long time.

By J on Sunday, November 15, 2009 - 03:33 am:

Sometime when I'm not drunk, which isn't now remind me to tell you how my youngest daughter H decided to have this underwater childbirth and ended up in a regular hospital after all and giving birth in the hall way and too late for ANY meds. These things happen.
